THANKS to everyone who supported SCS students through Operation Warm Hearts!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Operation Warm Hearts on #GivingTuesday! With the help of employees, families, businesses and local citizens, we collected hundreds of coats, winter clothing items and toys for students in need. We also raised over $8,500 to purchase additional items for our students. Once again, we proved why this is one our District's and the 901's most special events of the year! Check out photos from the day and a list of the generous businesses and organizations who supported Operation Warm Hearts on Facebook .

Didn't get a chance to make a donation? You can drop off new coats and winter clothing in the main lobby of the BOE through December 11 or make a monetary donation online through SchoolSeed. If you'd like to donate new toys, you can bring them to the FACE office.
Refer a great teacher, earn some cash! Everybody wins!

Great schools start with great teachers. To recruit the best of the best, we're counting on our employees to help identify teacher candidates who can lead our students and District to success. Plus, if you do, you can score a nice cash reward, too! That's right, we're offering incentives up to $500 for your teacher referrals! If you've got someone in mind, direct them to the #ChooseSCS career site or invite them to the December 8 Teacher Hiring Fair to learn more about teaching in SCS.
It's nomination time! Help us identify 2019 SCS Alumni Hall of Fame honorees.

Lately, we've been tooting our own horn about how SCS is one of the best parts of 901. Now it's time for us to give a pat on the back to some of the people who make us proud to say #SCSis901. Help us identify honorees for the 2019 SCS Alumni Hall of Fame Gala by nominating outstanding alumni for the big event. We're looking for SCS/MCS grads who have become entrepreneurs, community and business leaders, sports stars, artists and more. Save the date! The SCS Alumni Hall of Fame Gala is March 23, 2019. More details coming soon.

Help name the new state-of-the-art school for students at Goodlett & Knight Rd. ES.

Last year, our School Board approved a plan that included significant investments for a brand new, state-of-the art campus to serve students from Knight Road Elementary and Goodlett Elementary. The new 21st century community school will open in August 2019 on the current Goodlett Elementary campus, but first we need a school name. A committee of parents, students, teachers and community members representing both schools came up with a list of possible names. Click here to cast your vote by November 30.
Did you hear the news? The SCS Adult Testing Center is closing in January.

Effective January 1, 2019, the SCS Adult Testing Center located at 2930 Airways Blvd. will close. Given the many testing locations now available throughout the community for taking the HiSET high school equivalency exam, the SCS location has experienced a significant decline in testers. Anyone registered to take the HiSET test in November or December will still be able to do so. Others planning to take the HiSET after December can find a list of local testing centers  here. For additional questions about the SCS Adult Testing Center, please call (901) 416-5450.
