To obtain or renew your State. I.D. or State Driver's License, you don't have  to go all the way to the Illinois Secretary of State's office. Twice a year, Jesse White's office comes to the 46th Ward Office to make it easier for you.

Even better, if you're over the age of 65, or if you have a disabling condition, or if you are experiencing homelessness, these documents are free. Click here for more information about what to bring to obtain either a State of Illinois Driver's license or a State I.D.

OPEN OFFICE HOURS EVERY MONDAY

Ald. Cappleman is available next Monday evening from 5pm - 7pm for Open Office hours. Come in with any questions or ideas to help make the 46th Ward better for everyone.  

 

LETTER TO THE MAYOR ABOUT THE CITY'S BUDGET

Ald. Cappleman thanks everyone who either attended the 46th Ward Town Hall meeting or who sent in their suggestions for the City's 2016 Budget. Click here to view the letter that includes your suggestions for cutting expenses and adding revenue.   

 

931-33 W. BELLE PLAINE PROPOSAL

Ald. Cappleman met with residents to discuss a proposal to upzone property on W. Belle Plaine. Another meeting will be scheduled to provide residents in the area more information about this proposal. UPTOWN THEATRE'S 90TH BIRTHDAY

BUSINESS ALERT - ROBBERIES

Bank robberies have recently occurred in the neighborhoods of Lakeview, Uptown, and Edgewater between Aug 5 - Aug 22. In each of these incidents, a female offender provides a bank with a demand note and states she has a lookout. No weapon has been displayed. Per both the 19th & 20th Police District, the alleged offender is a black female, age 30-40 years old, 5'6" to 5'8", weighing 150-180 pounds. The offender is always wearing a large hat. If you have any information, contact the Bureau of Detectives at 312-421-6700. Please report any suspicious activity that you see.

MONTROSE BEACH SWEEP & NATURE TOURS

When: Saturday, Sept. 19
7am - 9am: Nature tour and beginning birder walk at Montrose
9am - 11am: Beach sweep, nature education and more nature tours
11am - Noon: Snacks, data tally, and more snacks!
Where: East end of Montrose Beach House
Join the Chicago Group of the Sierra Club to do a fall clean up of the beach. This will be a great event for both adults and kids of all ages. Please, do not bring dogs to this event. Click here to register for this event.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30pm
Where: 19th Police District Station, 850 W. Addison
