It has been a couple months since the Annual Conference, our largest event of the year, has passed, but things haven't slowed down within NEWEA.
We have lots of upcoming events for our members to attend, including a Plant Operations specialty conference, National Water Policy Fly-In, Operations Challenge Facility Tour & Training Day, and Deer Island Dash & KidFest.
Training Contact Hours will be available within participating states for attending the Plant Ops Conference and Operations Challenge Training Day. Check out the side bar to the left for more upcoming events to add to your calendar.
Additionally, we have an exciting job opening to join NEWEA! Linda Austin, our outstanding Office Administrator of 20 years, will be retiring in June, and we are looking for someone to fill this role. Check out the posting to join our NEWEA office as the
Office Administrator

Also in this newsletter, a letter from Past President Douglas Miller and information on the Green Steps Award, a new honor presented by the Sustainability Committee.

Douglas Miller (center, in focus) attending the 2019 Annual Conference.
|
Dear Fellow NEWEA Members:
As many of you know, those of you who attended the 2019 Annual Conference in Boston, I had a heart event Monday afternoon at the meeting. I had a pacemaker implanted on Tuesday and was released from the hospital on Wednesday. I am recovering from the minor implant surgery and will be back in good shape in a couple of weeks. My heart is strong and healthy. I didn’t know that my “HEART” had touched so many of you.
I want to express my humble gratitude for all of your good wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery. Those wishes helped me get out of the hospital in short order and recovery at home quite quickly.
Thank you so much for being part of my circle of friends.
Sincerely,
Douglas Miller
2005 NEWEA Past President
