Tellabration! is an international celebration
of the oral tradition. 

There are over thirty Tellabration! events scheduled in Connecticut: some for children, some for families, and some for adults in locations all over the State. Most are free!

Here are some Tellabration!™ highlights that illustrate the wide variety of these programs:



On November 4 at 7:00 p.m., Tom Callinan will tell Soldiers’ Stories through music
at The Hygienic in New London. 
  • Some material will be old folk songs and some will be Tom’s original songs, telling the stories of military people and events from the past and the present. 
  • Air Force Veteran and visual artist, Jacob Cullers, will have some of his work displayed. 
  • Veterans can register to take Nancy Rodgers’ series of workshops to write about their own stories.



Saturday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. brings Carol Glynn’s,
“Connecticut Legends and Lore”
to the East Lyme Library. 
Included is “The Legend of Bride Brook”. The storybook trail, which is currently posted around the perimeter of William Peretz Park at Bridebrook, was written by Carol Glynn. It is a short ride from the library. 






Denise Page will tell a personal story set in Milford at the Milford Public Library on November 12th at 2 p.m.
Denise will then facilitate the audience (adults, families) in remembering and telling their own Milford stories. 






Arnie Pritchard will lead a similar program at the Westbrook Library at 10:30 a.m. on November 30 for adults.







Carolyn Stearns will be sharing stories from Connecticut History for adults
at the Wallingford Library
on November 15 at 7:00 p.m.





The Ansonia Nature Center will present Karianna Rosenberg,
telling stories with an environmental theme on November 19
at 2:00 p.m. for families.



At 7:30 p.m. on November 19,
the Rowayton United Church will host
the largest and oldest Tellabration!™ of all!

Featuring Eshu Bumpus, Motoko, Arnie Pritchard, Bill Wright,
and a student teller. This year's performance is in honor of Peg O’Sullivan. 

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or on our website.
