Do you hate seeing good materials go to the landfill?
Do you like giving back to your community?
Do you just love shopping at Forklift?
We need people like you to become
Community Builders!

Our Outreach & Education team relies on a crew of passionate, outgoing individuals to represent Forklift and spread the word about the work that we do. Community Builders are enthusiastic, genuine, comfortable with people from diverse backgrounds, and committed to the environmental and community-oriented aspects of our mission.
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, or someone you know, to get out, do some good, and support your favorite reuse center,

A crafty thank you
You may remember reading about
our friends who bring art therapy to residents of the DC VA Medical Center on our blog earlier this year. Kasse (the program volunteer who first connected the art therapy program with Forklift's giving program) recently delivered this charming, ceramic thank you note to us in appreciation of the materials donated through our Community Building Blocks grant.
|
|
One of the cornerstones of our mission is to give materials
directly back to the community - either to neighbors in need or to nonprofits like
Art Therapy for DC VA Medical Center Residents. We are proud to say that in May 2018, we donated $5,654 worth of materials through our Home Essentials program and $3,436 through our Community Building Blocks program.
