Get creative for our Spring Tiny Art Show

Calling all artists and makers!

It's finally time to say "so long" to winter and "hello" to spring...well...almost...

Spring is the theme and we are looking for your creativity! The Wallkill Public Library will be hosting a Spring Tiny Art Show for all ages that will be on display from April 1 through May 1 in the library. Stop in to pick up a 4"x 6" canvas from the library anytime before March 24 and return your creation before April 1 to be displayed for the entire month of April. Patrons will have a chance to vote for their favorites and the creation with the most votes will win an art kit! You may use any of the supplies you have at home to create your piece - paint, markers, crayons, yarn, buttons, and stickers, just to name a few! The sky is the limit!

Mango to replace Rosetta Stone as language tool

Did you know that the library offers free access to language-learning resources on the Reference and Research page of our website?

While currently Rosetta Stone is among those offerings, later this year it will be replaced by Mango.

Mango is a robust resource for those who want an immersive learning experience. The database offers a blend of listening and reading activities so users can learn terms as they’re both spoken and written. Activities include critical thinking and memory building exercises, as well as grammar and culture notes.

Stay tuned for an announcement of when Mango will be available! In the meantime, continue to enjoy Rosetta Stone, as well as the other language-learning tools currently available on our website.
