Join A Watershed for Every Classroom in 2026–27

Apply by March 23 for this year-long professional learning program. You'll learn about the science and history of the Lake Champlain Watershed, engage in field work, and create a place-based unit with support from Shelburne Farms and fellow members of the Champlain Basin Education Initiative.

What We're Following

In January, Vermont passed a milestone of 1,000 school days ensuring every student has access to breakfast and lunch. How the state is growing a stronger school food system. Via Vermont Farm to School & Early Childhood Network.

For educators in the Lake Champlain Basin area, celebrate World Water Day in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, March 21. The event includes a Celebrate Water contest, with awards presented for student work in art, science, and technology. Submissions are due March 9.

All of our offerings prepare educators to facilitate learning experiences for students using a lens of sustainability. We believe in the power and potential of students to address the world's most pressing issues.
