Greetings!
Thank you for keeping Silver City litter free by participating in Pick It Up - Toss No Mas community cleanups!
Since October, more than 100 community volunteers have picked up 4,188 pounds of trash, debris and recyclables from Highways 180 and 90, Silver City neighborhoods, Big Ditch Park and San Vicente Creek.
At last month’s Community Trash Cleanup, 44 volunteers collected 1007 pounds of trash, debris and recycling.
Thanks to all of the volunteers, including the WNMU Golf Team, Western Institute for Lifelong Learning, and Community Youth Build for their participation in the event.
Let's keep up the momentum towards a clean and beautiful Silver City!
Join us for our next community trash cleanup on Saturday, March 19 at 9 am. You can pre-register HERE or at the event.
Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen. We'll provide trash bags, gloves, trash pickers and snacks. Wear your Pick It Up - Toss No Mas t-shirt or we'll provide safety vests.
Volunteers will spend the morning cleaning up litter at a location of their choice and then return to Gough Park between 12 pm and 1pm to drop off trash and recyclables and record their cleanup results.
Children 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Because children under 12 are not permitted on state highways for the cleanup, families with younger children are encouraged to clean up litter in their neighborhood, Big Ditch Park or San Vicente Creek.
Thanks so much for your commitment to our community!
Best regards,
Pick It Up - Toss No Mas Team
