Greetings Husky Alumni,
First and foremost, I hope all of you and your loved ones are doing well and staying safe during these very unprecedented times. For those alumni who I have yet to meet, my name is Malini Sanyal (formerly Malini Das), and as yourself, I am part of the Husky family (Class of 1997). I am currently serving as a member of the Board of Trustees, and Alumni Committee Chair. It is in this capacity that I am reaching out today, to encourage each of you to join me in supporting our alma mater in the search process for our new Head of Schools. As you recently read, our Head of Schools, David Maher, will step down on June 30, 2021 after six years of service. While the search process has begun, the Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring that the Husky Alumni perspective is included in the process.
Two distinct committees have been appointed. The first is a Trustee Search Committee whose primary responsibility is to identify the qualities most desired and needed for the Head of Schools, and then evaluate the candidates based on those qualities. The success of this search will depend in large part on the input received from the school community, including us, the Husky Alumni. As Huskies, we bring a very meaningful voice that should be heard in this process.
In the days ahead, a Search Advisory Committee, made up of faculty, staff, students, parents, Alumni, and friends of the school will be appointed to ensure broad participation. The Search Advisory Committee will interview the finalists and will provide feedback directly to the Trustee Search Committee.
The Board of Trustees has retained Marcus Hurlbut and Joan Beauregard of Educators’ Collaborative to help with our search. Marc and Joan look forward to speaking to and working with Husky Alumni as they seek to find the very best person to succeed David Maher. They will begin the dialogue through a series of Zoom meetings with various constituent groups.
The Alumni session is scheduled as follows:
