Supporting Future Engineers and Manufacturers

NTM is a proud member of the manufacturing community, and we love giving back to our community and education, especially to those students interested in engineering and manufacturing. This past month, two of our employees volunteered their time to support our future leaders in the industry. NTM is a proud manufacturing partner that encourages the next generation of workers to consider a career in the trades.

Anoka High School STEAM Experience

For the second year, Vickie Parks, NTM’s Director of Business Development, participated in Anoka High School’s Professional Review Night on November 15th. This event gave community volunteers a chance to provide input and feedback on the school’s senior STEAM Capstone Project’s first prototype. Volunteers met with individual students and gave them constructive feedback and insight.

Coon Rapids High School Conversation

Barbara Dorumsgaard, owner of NTM, was a guest speaker at Coon Rapids High School's first-ever employer guest speaker program last month. Barb had the opportunity to speak with high school students about NTM and the manufacturing industry as a whole.  Sara Lindholm teaches Investigating Careers at Coon Rapids High School and welcomes employers to share their business with her classes.  To give students more information about careers in manufacturing Barb handed out brochures from the Minnesota State Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence, with QR codes to explore manufacturing opportunities.  Thank you Jeremy Leffelman for the materials.

In addition to speaking with students, Barb is on the Education Foundation board of Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association, which provides scholarships to students interested in manufacturing.  High School Seniors or students already enrolled in technical college are invited to apply for the Education Foundation Scholarships go to MPMA.com to learn more.

Thank you for being a valued member of our manufacturing community.
