Letter from the President by Pilar Page

Why we're here...

Do you remember that wise old political commentator, Charles Krauthammer? Someone once asked him why he became a political commentator, when he was an accomplished psychiatrist and writer with so many interests in the arts and sciences. Here’s what he said:

“While science, medicine, art, poetry, architecture, chess, space, sports, number theory and all things hard and beautiful promise purity, elegance and sometimes even transcendence, they are fundamentally subordinate. In the end, they must bow to the sovereignty of politics .. .because in the end, everything – high and low and, most especially, high – lives or dies by politics…because of its capacity, when benign, to allow all around it to flourish, and its capacity, when malign to make all around it wither.”

He hit the nail on the head. Everything else that’s important in life can flourish when the politics are right. Our families can flourish when the politics are right. America can flourish when the politics are right. The world can flourish when America is right. We've seen how the liberal policies of Obama and Biden resulted in a destructive culture that was the opposite of flourishing.

Isn’t that why we joined MRW? Because we want to make the politics right.

MRW will do everything we can to help President Trump and his awesome Cabinet make the politics right again. You can do your part by:

  • GETTING PREPARED. We're including educational articles and talking points in our newsletters (see below) to increase enthusiasm and help you motivate Republicans and Independents to vote for conservatives.

  • GETTING INVOLVED by volunteering to help with the many activities, events, and Get Out The Vote efforts we have planned for 2026. An hour a month is all we ask. Go to our VOLUNTEER page to let us know your areas of interest.

Then let's go make the politics right - together!

Pilar

From our Chaplain by Nancy Manley

The Republican party is the party of faith, family and freedom. Or to put it another way, God first, then family and country.

As we approach this primary season, let’s pray that God will give us candidates who not only keep these priorities but also seek God’s will and the good of their constituents above their own personal interests.

DID YOU KNOW: The Republican Party pioneered the right of women to vote and advocated for equal rights for women and equal pay for equal work?

Yes, that's right. Republicans championed, passed and signed:

  • 19th Amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote (1920). Ratified by a majority of Republican states. Susan B. Anthony was a Republican.
  • Equal Pay Act (1963) and Title IX (1972). Restricted Trans participation in Title IX in 2026.
  • Pregnancy Discrimination Act (1978)
  • Welfare reforms (1990s) emphasized job training and employment pathways and helped many single mothers enter the workforce.
  • Tax and regulatory reforms expanded women-owned businesses' access to capital and reduced barriers for women entrepreneurs.

Republican Candidate Forum hosted by MRW

On Wednesday, January 28, MRW hosted a Republican Candidate Forum at the Village Hall in Pinehurst. More than 100 attended to listen to 21 candidates for local, state and national offices.

Elaine Bologna, MRW’s 1st Vice President in charge of Programs, organized and moderated the Forum. “MRW wanted to make sure everyone could meet, talk with and hear the candidates in plenty of time for the Primary. The event was free and purposely scheduled for early evening, to allow people to attend after their workdays. We’re very pleased at its success and encourage all Republicans to get out and vote in the primary so we elect the best people for their respective positions!”
