GET READY FOR SPRING GARDENING

Take action for community health through gardening projects big and small. Whether you want to try out growing your own food in containers, creating a habitat garden to support local pollinators or learning to care for our community’s urban tree canopy, anyone can be involved!

RCPL Seed Library

Explore free seed collections at all three library locations. February is a great time to start summer herbs and vegetables indoors, broadcast spring flower seeds and make plans for future plantings.

FEBRUARY IN THE TEEN CENTER

It's Love Your Library month, and there's lots to love for teens here at the Library! In addition to our weekly happenings, like Open Makers, Video Game Night and Movie Night we have these programs in February:


Young Adult Novelist Convention

A day with celebrated young adult novelists! Come for the day or an hour or two.


College Prep with Alice Kleeman

MON FEB 10, 6pm

Juniors: create your dream college list with a college advisor


Money Wednesdays with Monterra Credit Union

Learn about budgeting and saving with Monterra Credit Union


Teen Makers: Bucket Hats

SAT FEB 15, 2pm

Create your own custom bucket hat using the Cricut, patches, or iron-on designs


Teen Book Club

TUE FEB 25, 4pm

The Teen Book Club is back and led by teens! This month’s pick is Holes by Louis Sachar. Grab your copy at the Teen Center.

Spring 2025 Board, Commission, and Committee Recruitment Has Started - Apply by March 30


Are you interested in contributing your voice, making an impact in your neighborhood and the entire City? The City welcomes and encourages your active participation by serving on a Council-appointed Board, Commission or Committee (BCC) and is seeking volunteers to fill vacant seats.


The City Clerk’s Office is now accepting applications for the following vacancies:

  • Planning Commission
  • Police Advisory Committee
  • Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission
  • Housing and Human Concerns Committee 
  • Library Board 
  • Transportation Advisory Committee
  • Historic Resources Advisory Committee (appointed by the Planning Commission) 
  • Architectural Advisory Committee (appointed by the Planning Commission)

Your donations keep the Friends Bookstore stocked! Donate gently used books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, videogames, or albums at the Friends of the Redwood City Public Library's monthly donation event.

  • 10am-12pm: Downtown Library at 1044 Middlefield Road
  • 10am-11:30am: Redwood Shores Branch Library at 399 Marine Pkwy


How Your Donations Help:

Donated books will be sold in our bookstore, with proceeds directly supporting community library events and programs.
