Summer of the Arts

November 26, 2024

Hello Lisa,

It's the time of year when we give thanks for your support and involvement. We love bringing our community together through the arts and couldn't do it without you! We all wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings.

We're also getting really excited for this year's Holiday Thieves Market December 7-8 at the Hyatt Regency in Coralville. We'll have 86 fine artists and nearly 30 silent auction items you can bid on while you're shopping for those special items!

We look forward to joining together at the Holiday Thieves Market, then focusing on our plans for 2025. Our committees have been very busy and we can't wait to share our schedules with you in the spring!

This year's Holiday Thieves Market will not only feature many of your regular favorite artists but also 23 new artists!

We’re thrilled to welcome Libby Loescher, a talented glass artist from Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to this year’s Holiday Thieves Market. Through her business, The Looking Glass, Libby creates stunning fused and stained glass art. Each piece is meticulously designed and hand-cut from sheets of glass, then fired in the kiln multiple times to bring her vision to life.

Libby’s work combines vibrant colors and intricate designs, resulting in beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. Stop by her booth to see how she transforms glass into striking works of art!

Artist Spotlight: Gabriel Berg

This year’s Holiday Thieves Market is excited to welcome Gabriel Berg, a talented fiber artist from Viroqua, Wisconsin, who will be showcasing his unique handwoven creations.

Gabriel combines intricate hand-drawn designs with delicate threads, weaving them over wood panels and nails to create beautiful mandalas and sacred geometry inspired by nature. Each piece reflects Gabriel’s deep connection to his surroundings, transforming simple materials into mesmerizing works of art.
