Wildlife of the Watershed: Owls & Hoot Hike
The watershed is a lifeline for many animals.
Mammals, reptiles, amphibians and even birds are found in more abundance near fresh, clean, water.
The most mysterious and fascinating of all could be the wise old owl.
The owl hunts silently while most of the watershed’s residents are fast asleep.
It uses its amazing vision, unique head rotation and deadly talons to pounce on unsuspecting prey.
Come out to Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary to learn more about wild world of owls at our Wildlife in the Watershed: Owls & Hoot Hike 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 18.
We will learn about owl adaptations, natural history, and local species while meeting our live education owls. Then we’ll head outside to look for owls that have been observed on our property.
This program is partially outdoors so dress for the weather.
