TOWN HALL RECAP
The June 25 Town Hall meeting sparked a lively discussion about Shadelands' remarkable growth the past four years (since the creation of the Shadelands Property & Business Improvement District, PBID) and about the journey still ahead as we strive to make Shadelands a world-class work/life business destination.

In partnership with the City of Walnut Creek and other agencies, the PBID has:

Created a Shadelands brand, logo, and tag: Work Place. Life Space.

Launched the free Pleasant Hill BART shuttle, identified by buses wrapped in the Shadelands brand.

Launched Shadelands.org and the monthly community e-newsletter, The Shadelands Scene.

Held a block party for property owners, tenants, and employees.

Launched the free Shadelands LimeBike bikeshare program.

Welcomed the Shadelands Walnut Creek Police Department Field Office.

Advocated for rezoning measures and worked with the City of Walnut Creek to imagine and implement extensive zoning changes to allow for business development, diversity, and growth in Shadelands.

Shadelands "2.0" will focus on:
• Advocacy
• Branding & Marketing
• Amenities & Asset Protection
• Transportation & Wayfinding, including multi-modal enhancements to make getting around Shadelands easier and safer. Multi-Modal Plan.
WELCOME NEW TENANT:
COMMODORE INSURANCE SERVICES
Commodore Insurance Services, Inc , is a California corporation that operates as an insurance program manager and wholesaler. Founded in 1990, Commodore has established an expertise in the production and underwriting of insurance products for small, independently owned businesses.

Commodore moved its home office from Pleasant Hill to a new 1,341-sq-ft office in Shadelands at 2700 Ygnacio Valley Road, Suite 190. July 2 is the first full day of work in the new office for the seven-person firm.

A program manager for Lloyd’s of London, Commodore welcomes many clients from out of the country who fly into San Francisco, stay in San Francisco, and must make their way to the East Bay.

“The free BART shuttle is huge for us," says Lupe Velasquez, senior vice president and director of Contractors Services. "Now our international clients can take BART to Pleasant Hill, and take the free shuttle right to our office. It's perfect, and it beats having to rent a car and drive through traffic or schedule an Uber.”

Welcome to Shadelands!
