Meet the Candidates for
Open Board Positions
We have the privilege to present a fabulous slate of women who have stepped up to run for election as directors of our chapter, for terms beginning November 1. Please read about these candidates below, so you're ready when the invitation to vote arrives in your email inbox in a few days. 

While these candidates are unopposed, your vote is important to ratify our future Chapter leadership. The invitation to vote will allow each current chapter member to click through Survey Monkey and cast one ballot per email address. If you don't see the voting email in your primary inbox, look in Updates, Junk, or Spam folders.

President (1-Year Term)

Natalia Bausback: A member since 2013, Natalia has served the chapter in many capacities through the years. She previously served as both President and Finance & Records Director. She has also chaired and volunteered for numerous league events and held league captain roles.

Natalia is the co-owner of a dental practice, Phyllis Norton, DDS & Natalia Bausback, DMD; PC. She has an array of skills in organizational development and management through her work experience and her membership with both the American Dental Association and the NYS Dental Association.

"I absolutely love being a member of our local chapter," she says," and feel deeply committed to keeping the spirit of the chapter alive. Not only has being a member of this chapter provided me with plenty of golfing opportunities, but through a sense of having an extensive women’s golf community, it has introduced me to a multitude of wonderful, exemplary women. I am so grateful for all the acquaintances and close friendships formed through being involved with this chapter."

Having previously spent a significant amount of time on the chapter board, Natalia says she is ready to jump in to the role to provide the organization with golf experiences, instructional events and social opportunities to further support and connect the membership.

Natalia's campaign slogan is simply, "LOVE GOLF, LOVE LPGA Amateurs CRNY!"
Finance & Records Director (2-Year Term)
Barbara Sherman: Barbara has been a member of the chapter for 5 years. She was co-captain of the league at Capital Hills in 2020 and would now like to use this board opportunity to expand her volunteer role to support the chapter.

Barbara is currently retired after working in the accounting field for over 30 years. She held finance leadership roles at Gardenway, Inc. and was a senior accountant at HANYS. She was also the treasurer for Church Street Preschool and has lead many software installation projects for companies where she was employed. She says her professional and volunteer experience provides her with organizational skills, detail orientation, and problem solving capabilities. 

"I am ready to step in to do more for our chapter!," she says. "I look forward to the challenge."
Marketing Director (2-Year Term)
Elizabeth Gaudet: Through appointment by the chapter board, Liz will serve the remaining year in the Marketing Director term. Liz has been a member of the chapter since 2011 and says she has formed many lasting relationships through her golf connections. She previously served as Golf Leagues & Events Director, has volunteered many times for events and has held league captain roles at Stadium, Capital Hills and Schenectady Muni.

Liz is currently self employed as an IT strategist and executive coach and has over 40 years of experience in her field. She has also held many volunteer leadership roles including serving as board chair at Little Sisters of the Poor and Strategic Initiatives Chair at Northern Rivers Family Services.

Liz says, " I want to support the board and understand the desires of our chapter membership to enhance the organization for the future."
Membership (2-Year Term)
Cheryl Watts: Cheryl has been a member of the chapter since 2013. She has volunteered for membership events including coordination of volunteers for Spring Kick-Off and served as director of the 2019 Chapter Championship. Cheryl considers herself an avid supporter of women's golf and this chapter.

In Cheryl's professional life, she is the Manager of Pricing and Allocations for Empire Merchants North. She has over 20 years of experience in management, planning and analytics that she will bring to this role. Cheryl says she will take a critical look at our membership to identify what is needed for future retention and growth.

"With the transition from EWGA and the unprecedented events of Covid," she says, "I think we need to determine and promote the value of membership to current members and seek to promote membership to new members based on those benefits."  
Communications Director (2-Year Term)
Wendy Rosher: Wendy has been a member of the chapter for seven years. This will be her first time officially running for electionafter volunteering for appointment to step into the Communications Director vacancy in 2019.

Wendy is a retired healthcare executive and has served on many volunteer boards during her careerincluding The American Cancer Society, Union College Bioengineering program and The Chamber of Southern Saratoga just to name a few. Wendy has volunteered at LPGA Amateurs events and has co-captained the winter indoor league.

Wendy says, "I would like to continue to support the Chapter as it brings women together for fun and sport as well as playing a valuable role in building new friendships and relationships!"
Golf Leagues Director (2-Year Term)
Barbara Barfield: Barbara has been a member of the chapter for 3 years. She was appointed in 2020 to fill the remaining Leagues Director term and now running for election to the position. Barbara has also volunteered on the Spring Kick-Off committee. and would like to continue to support the chapter as the leagues director.

Barbara is an examiner for New York State and has military experience in operations. She also has been very active in scouting leadership for Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She has stepped up to the plate on her PTA board as well. She is currently a dedicated member of the Association of Government Accountants Capital Chapter and sits on the strategic direction and bylaws committee.

Barbara wants to insure leagues run smoothly for the membership.

She says, "Although I am relatively new to golf and the LPGA Amateurs, I am very interested in giving ladies more opportunities to golf, and making sure leagues are available to fit their work schedules."
