The exhibition is the first retrospective of Hirshfield's work in nearly 80 years and explores his fascinating journey from the textile industry to the modern art world. 


The Museum, located at 2 Lincoln Square on Columbus Avenue between 65th Street and 66th Street, is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am to 6:00pm. You can reserve your free ticket here. Drop-ins are also welcome. 


The Shop at the Museum is always full of interesting pieces. It is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30am to 6:00pm. Make sure you check it out when you visit the exhibit!

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, the Biden administration is offering free at-home COVID-19 tests delivered to your home through the Postal Service again. You can order 4 free tests here. Erik Bottcher, New York City Council Member for District 3, is distributing free at-home COVID-19 test kits to the community on Thursday, January 19, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. You can pick up your free test kits at the Penn South Program for Seniors building, located at 290A Ninth Avenue (at 27th Street).

Volunteer for HOPE 2023 on January 24


Sign up now to participate in HOPE, NYC's annual survey of street homeless individuals. HOPE 2023 will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 10pm to 4am. Volunteers will begin at a HOPE site and then canvass streets and subways. Volunteers must be 16 or over, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Register here.

2 Ways on How to Deal with Rats in NYC

The NYC Department of Small Business Services is offering a new webinar, which is open to restaurant owners, BIDs, merchants associations, and other CBOs, to learn best practices to help restaurant owners guard against rat infestations in and near Open Restaurants program dining sheds. You can also learn about safe and effective methods for rat prevention in your home and community at an upcoming Rat Academy virtual training offered by the Department of Health on January 26, January 31, or February 9. This training is available to everyone, but it may be especially helpful for superintendents and building staff, property managers and owners, neighborhood associations, community gardeners, and local businesses.
