The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and with it comes the
Annual MDHS State Office Holiday Decorating Contest.
All employees are invited to spread the Christmas spirit and make the holiday season a little more special and fun at MDHS.
Participants must adhere to the following rules:
  • Floor decorating may not begin until Tuesday, December 1st.

  • Do not damage the door or surrounding wall.

  • Fire extinguishers/fire alarms pull station shall not be obstructed from view, obstruction shall not be placed by an exit path.

  • No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily within the exit route.

  • If you decorate with strands of lights, they MUST be battery operated as we do not want to overload circuits.

  • Decorations may not obstruct or prevent easy access to the office.

  • Exit signs shall not be obstructed from view.
  • If you choose to have one common area for decorating and want to use lights for a tree or something of that nature, they MUST be LED lights and please designate someone to be responsible for turning off any lights, at the end of every day.

  • No items hanging from sprinkler heads and means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use.

  • Participants may bring items from home to use as decorations; remember this activity is all about being creative and having fun without incurring unnecessary expenses.

  • All decorations must be removed by close of business on Wednesday, December 30th.

  • Winners of other competitions this year cannot win again so that we can spread the cheer.
Decorated floors will be evaluated on three criteria:
visual impact, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Judging will take place on Tuesday, December 22nd.
Winners will be announced later that day!
