Certified Instructors, we are looking for volunteers to present webinars about specific disabilities, sensory trails, equine behavior, teaching methodologies and volunteer management. Steps to apply
1. Complete the online Webinar Presenter Application
2. You will be notified within five business days if your presentation has been selected.
a. If selected, sign a PATH Intl. Speaker Release Form
b. Provide PATH Intl. with PowerPoint presentation slides two weeks prior to your scheduled presentation for review, formatting and presentation rehearsal.

Lodging Information for the 2015 Conference Hotel
|

We have confirmed with the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel that there are rooms, including doubles, available at the hotel.
Due to system limitations with the hotel online and phone reservations, the general Marriott reservation team is not able to guarantee double rooms. However, rooms are available! Please contact the hotel's direct group housing team, Joseph Zjaba (216) 696-5600 ext. 4515 or Laura Linares (216) 902-4101, to make your reservation and/or to follow up on your reservation.
If you made a reservation at an alternate location because the hotel's system reflected the lack of double rooms, consider canceling that reservation in order to join your colleagues at the Renaissance Cleveland to be in the heart of the action. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have had making your reservation. Contact Joe or Laura directly; they promise to take good care of PATH Intl. attendees.

2015 Conference Highlights - Don't Miss It!
|
|
Calling All Experienced Instructors!
If you have seven or more years teaching as a certified instructor in the EAAT field, then we want you! For the first time, a specialized alternate workshop is being offered at the upcoming international conference in Cleveland
exclusively for experienced therapeutic riding instructors. It is a full day workshop with a small group of people (50 max) to learn and discuss advanced technique when it comes to matching horses, riders and tack. Take an in-depth look at conformation of horse and rider and how the two interact, as well as see how tack affects this relationship. After lunch, small groups will have the opportunity to work with an adult rider enrolled at Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center to put into practice what they have learned.

NOTE:
You must be registered for the conference to attend. An additional charge of $60 will cover the cost of transportation and lunch. Do not sign up for any sessions on Friday at the hotel, as this is located off site at Fieldstone Farm and will take place during scheduled session times.

Continuing Education Credits
PATH Intl. has received approval from NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors). Eight sessions have been approved for CEs. Sessions fill up quickly, so register and pick your sessions as soon as possible.
Video Contest
Time is running out for the fun videos contest submissions!
The conference host committee will judge and select the top two or three to show at the awards banquet on Friday, November 6. Email videos to Cher Smith or email her for Dropbox instructions. For larger video files, mail a CD or flashdrive. Note: We need the actual video, not a YouTube or Vimeo link. Submissions must be sent by September 1 to allow time for judging. Please include a photo/video release form with submission.
Cleveland Fun Fact
We know that Cleveland is called the Rock and Roll Capital of the World. But did you know that it was Cleveland DJ Alan Freed who coined the phrase "rock and roll" on his radio station in the 1950s? Cleveland also hosted the very first rock concert, the Moondog Coronation Ball.

How Their Whiskers Help Horses See

Did you know that in Switzerland and Germany their governments have banned the clipping of horses whiskers? Here's why: A horse's muzzle is soft and velvet-like. Personally, it's one of my favorite places to pet on our Quarter Horses Pegasus and Sugar Babe. But that pettable muzzle isn't why clipping a horse's whiskers is a bad idea.
In the midst of the marshmallow-soft skin are scattered, coarse hairs, called vibrissae, or tactile hairs. These whiskers are a result of millions of years of evolution to help horses sense their environment. Read more
