We are going to have a great Easter weekend with activities for the whole family. As always, we start off tonight with pasta action station. Be sure to try the homemade meatballs and grandma's soon-to-be-famous red spaghetti sauce. We are actually thinking about bottling the sauce. It's that good.

Then Friday, it's 5 O'clock Somewhere in Hookers. Get there straight up at 5 pm or you may not get a seat inside. Saturday is the big Easter egg hunt, petting zoo, balloon art, face painting, and bounce houses. There will be a buffet for lunch for everyone, along with the Elite 8 going on in Hookers. It should be a great day at CYC.

Then it's Easter Sunday. I can't wait for that buffet. The kitchen crew has been doing an outstanding job! Be on the lookout for some new menus to hit in April.

Boat sales will be doing their annual Easter In-water Boat Show on both sides of the creek. Be sure to check out all the inventory. The Easter Bunny may have some special deals for all the boat shoppers.

Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you soon.

Happy Easter!

Happy Friday Eve LakeRockers!

I know we have already had Welcome Back Weekend, a record setting Welcome Back BTW, but here at Arrowhead Yacht Club, the slip renters are back...Welcome Back...Again! Our dock communities at Arrowhead are amazing, tight and borderline harmonious. Some families have been here for decades, and others for just a few weekends. The docks are always rockin or rollin and everyone is glad to be here. This time of the year only the REAL boaters come out to play. We have to bring gear that suits the 80 degree afternoon or the 35 degree polar express mornings. Nothing warms a Marina Managers heart like the bark of the Diesels echoing through the marina on a Sunday morning, thank you PK & Christa (2023 Commodore Couple). Boat rides, loud stereos (Russell Fowler), runny eggs, bacon, sausage and toast...My kind of Weekend Fun, no matter what time of the year it is.

TJ & Ann Foley were busy this past weekend personalizing their new to them 2009 Four Winns. Welcome to Pebble Beach Dock!

The Chemically Dependent posse of Todd McNair obviously went swimming this weekend. There were three of them on board and three coolers on board. So there you go!

A big part of the reason that Ward Brasses was named the official MAYOR of Pebble Beach for the 2024 Season was the fact that Karen makes sure he is at The Grand Lake almost every weekend, with the like minded people in his posse. Out for a Saturday Evening Boat ride...Ward & Karen Brasses, Brian & Becky Wilson, Dave & Angie Culbertson aboard Memory Maker.

The Arrowhead Easter Weekend Celebration is here. Easter, as only the visionary mind of Joe harwood can put together, will be at Cherokee Yacht Club this year. Of course, my afflicted mind will be focused on the boats...still. But after all the Easter Eggs have been collected and all the farm animals have been tucked back into their stalls, we need to embrace the Real Celebration. On Sunday morning at The Coves, the Cleora Community Church led by Pastor Ben Lindsly will guide us through an Easter Sunrise Service. First Prayer at 6:45. Just tell the guards at the gate you are there for the Sunrise and they will direct you to the flock. He Is Risen.

Sister Lori Mosler has jumped in the ring and the opening bell has rung. The Stadium is full of supporters and her Arrowhead Family is standing in the front row. Keep her in your prayers. Lori is a BadAss and she will give it her all...every time. I don't know much, but I know that when we cross the street we hold hands and phone calls can be magical. I don't believe in Miracles, I depend on them. #cancersucks

Thats all for this week LakeRockers. Celebrate the life that we are all privledged to live. Keep the Shiny Side Up...

and I'll See Ya Next time!

Hello Beaver Lakers! Things are getting busy around here. We have sold and delivered so many new pontoon boats lately, they are going fast! I just had a deal this past week, the gentleman went to every dealership in town and drove their boats. Guess what the final decision was? You guessed it, a new BARLETTA! The leading point for the decision came down to the smooth, rattle-free ride and the power of the Merc 250! He said it outperformed a competitor's 300hp Yamaha! If you have not experienced the ride of a new Barletta, come out this weekend to our Summer kick-off event. We will have food, boats in the water, and great deals on all merch AND boats. You won't want to miss it. This SATURDAY!!!

I also wanted to say congratulations to the Salley family on their wedding this past weekend. We saw many lake "family" members there and a great time was had by all. Colt proposed to her last year on their family's A29 Cobalt! How cool is that!

That's all for now folks, see you Saturday at the LAKE!

Aside from that we are still making great deals on new and used boats here in Grove! Plenty to choose from, and ready for immediate delivery! When I say immediate, I had a family come In Saturday, we spent some time finding them a boat and we had it in their dock immediately after the test drive! Within the HOUR, it was theirs! I try to make things as easy and painless as possible.

Disney Island News,

Warm weather is coming and going here at the big pond. Down here on the south end, we are getting ready for the Easter weekend boat show. Stop by Cherokee to look at some boats and take a demo ride, and then let’s have Easter brunch. The weather is warming up, and it’s going to be amazing this weekend.

Caught a shot of some Regal’s in the courtesy docks.

Don’t forget I still have rebates on the floor models from the boat show

It won’t be long till we start night cruising on Grand Lake.

My favorite time of the year at the lake is watermelon time. Can’t wait!

SERVICE TIP

Most people don't understand that every marine system has operating procedures, and all have manuals telling you the correct way to use the systems. If you have lost yours. You can find operations manuals for almost every marine system online these days if you are missing one.

It is very important that all boat operators understand safe equipment operations.

One of the biggest issues we face during a boating season is with generators. Here are the biggest operator errors being made and what you should know about your generator operations.

After the generator has been started, and is up to full RPM. Now you're ready to turn on the needed switches on the power distribution panel. Always do one switch at a time, giving a few seconds between each selection during shutdown or start-up. This gives the generator RPMS to adjust properly while loading or unloading power demand.

1. Generators should never be started until all switches on the power distribution panel are turned off.

2. It should also never be turned off until all the switches on the power distribution panel are turned off.

Doing either of these incorrectly can and will damage the windings in the power plant, shortening the life and cause ultimate generator failure.

LV ( Low Voltage) usually displays when the generator is started with some or all of the power already turned on. This means the generator's RPM level is not high enough to produce adequate voltage for the demanding appliance, which will damage the appliance as well as the generator.

UL(under voltage) usually displays when the generator is shut down with the power distribution panel switch on. This means the generator cannot continue to supply the power demand from the appliances still requiring power, which can damage the generator.

LOC (loss of power ) this displays for a few reasons.

1. The water pump impeller has failed, and the generator is not getting enough cooling water from the lake.

2. If it is a closed-cooled unit, the coolant level is low.

3. The sea strainer in the bilge has debris from the lake and needs to be cleaned out. Failure of any of these can cause major generator problems.

If you have any questions or need technical assistance with your boat, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with whatever we can. As always, it is best to send us an email so we both have a less chance of miscommunication, unless it's urgent; then please call us. As always, have a wonderful time on the beautiful Grand, and have a safe boating season.

SUMMERIZATION SEASON HAS BEGUN

If you did not pre-schedule your Summerization with us last fall, please contact us to get scheduled. You can call or text in your request to 479-925-1199.

With the beginning of Summerizations upon us, we would like to make sure you are aware of the lake level going into the beginning of the season. The lake level is currently the lowest it has been, going into Spring, since 2017. Please be cautious and aware of all the shallow areas around the lake. Damage to the bottom of your boat can result in needing major repairs which can take multiple weeks to order parts and complete.

My favorite upgrade this year in any wakeboard or surf equipment is the BOA system added to the Ronix line of wakeboard boots. This is the same sort of tech that they use in hospital equipment- it is heavy-duty. The last time I broke my arm, my brace had this same tightening feature and it’s super tough, works flawlessly, and I could easily use it with one hand. These new bindings have the same tech and make cinching down wakeboard bindings so easy and quick. I have kid-large adult sizes in stock now!

BIG BASKETBALL WEEKEND

It will be a monster weekend for basketball, Men’s & Woman’s. Both tournaments are down to the final “Sweet 16” teams. Quite an accomplishment to say the least and have there ever been plenty of exciting finishes! How about that Texas, Texas AM game! North Carolina State has now won 7 consecutive including an OT win to make the sweet 16! That D.J. Burns with NC State is like watching a Bear in Ballerina shoes! Can he ever score & pass. If they win their next game against Marquette, Katy bar the door! Every game in this streak has been against a one bracket higher team. With each game they win the competition gets tougher, for all teams. On the men’s side I am putting my hopes with Iowa State, my heart will be with North Carolina State! Women’s, my favorite would be to see Iowa and Caitlyn Clarke wins out! One thing for sure, with each game ahead they will be exciting and first class entertainment. Every game from this point on is a big game! You win your next game and you are part of the Elite 8, one more and you are in the FINAL FOUR! You lose, and you go home!

BIGGER EASTER WEEKEND!

IN-WATER BOAT SHOW FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY

If you would like to set an appointment for you and your family to get a private showing of any boat in our inventory. Give Arrowhead Boat Sales a call.

SATURDAY EASTER FAMILY DAY & PICNIC AT CYC

Plan a full day with the family at CYC, including boat riding, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, balloon art, Easter egg hunts, and a picnic lunch, served in the Cobalt Ballroom. All these activities are open to everyone. Any and all!

************IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS***********

MEXICAN MONDAY WILL START MONDAY, MAY 6TH, WITH AN ALL-NEW ALA CARTE MENU

SHARKY'S BAR WILL OPEN FRIDAY MAY 6TH WITH LIVE MUSIC EVERY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT

THE NEW CHEROKEE BUFFET WILL START ON FRIDAY, MAY 10TH

This new venue will be offered on Friday and Saturday nights on the second floor in the Cobalt Ballroom. This concept provides a different dimension in food service, offering access to instant dining at a moderate price. We will be filling you in with the details. The Sunday Bruch Buffet will also be held in the second-floor Cobalt Ballroom. It’s a beautiful room with a great view that, in the past, has only been utilized for special occasions. In view of circumstances that we can address immediately this season, it makes sense.

THE NEW COMMODORES LOUNGE IS COMING HOPEFULLY BY MEMORIAL DAY

poolside dining is being converted into what will be called the Commodores Lounge. This will be furnished with lounge-type furnishings and a climate and humidity-controlled wine cellar. It will be upscale and offer high-end craft cocktails, wine, and a tapas menu. It will not be a dining room. Construction has begun along with replacing the entire Club roof. Other improvements are planned and we will be announcing as we finalize plans. The success or failure of these new ventures will depend on your input. There is a need for instant food availability, especially for large groups and families. A high-end cocktail lounge also appears to be needed. What we can do is provide this by Memorial Day and have it available this season. We are not set in concrete and can tweak these venues if necessary. Top to bottom, we will be offering new menus in ALL dining areas.

Other improvements will not be able to be completed this season and will take at least more than a year to complete. By the weekend before Memorial Day, these new venues will operate six days a week, with expanded hours, and closed only on Tuesday, just like last year.

The Arrowhead Ship Store will expand its food options after Easter. Plus, the Cherokee/Arrow will be available anytime Cherokee is open. The Arrowhead Ship Store should be back in the fuel business by next weekend.

We are excited about these announcements and new ventures. Fortunately, we have the staff to fill these new ventures. We have not laid off a single Arrowhead employee. These new areas also more than replace the total seating we lost at Arrowhead.

We appreciate your patience and support and look forward to your input. THANKS; it is taking a lot of patience this year! The staff and I especially appreciate your comments and support. We have much to be thankful for, especially the fact that we have Cherokee and these unutilized spaces available just waiting to be developed, and it can happen this season before Memorial Weekend.

Had it not been for Cherokee, I fear I would have already slit my wrist! I wish each and every one of you a blessed and happy Easter!

You know what that means? This will not only be a good weekend to see, ride, and drive a new boat……………, but it will also be an excellent time to buy one! Buy a new boat and keep on boating all season long!

The SUN is rising over Duck Creek. No cars, no traffic, and the ONLY thing we overlook is the LAKE! And it is Grand, Beaver, Grove, and Oklahoma City!

CARLA PENCE

Carla Pence grew up and graduated high school in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She began working in the office for the Oklahoma City sales location on May 9th, 2023. Carla states that she loves working with the OKC team and meeting new people. She previously owned a small boat, RV, and car lot for 25 years and was able to develop skills in many areas from pulling parts to driving a semi-truck or a wrecker, and human resources. During that time, she discovered that she enjoyed seeing the customers' excitement as they purchased a boat to share with their families.  She explains that it is a different atmosphere to watch customers looking for a boat to buy versus looking for a car. Carla shares that one of the most important lessons she has learned in her career so far is that things can change overnight. Carla calmly states that change can be good if you continue to do your best or change can be bad if you allow it to be negative in your daily life.

Carla has two sons, Matthew, age 26; and Caleb, age 21. She has two fur babies (poodles) named Leo and Coco. Her mother, Molly Strebeck, lives with her and Carla enjoys the opportunity to continue to spend time with her. Carla has an Uncle named Cy that she moved to OKC and he lives in the Veteran's Center. Carla's hobbies include going to the car races to watch her son, Caleb; riding UTVs and ATVs; riding motorcycles; and boating. However, her passion is spending time with her sons, her mother, and other family members. Something you may be surprised to learn about Carla is that since she is no stranger to an auto garage she built a 1969 Z28 from the ground up and enjoyed taking it to car shows and racing it on the drag strip.

Thank you, Carla Pence, for your contribution to the OKC sales team and for always having a beautiful smile on your lovely face!
