Foundation Supports Fuel Assistance Programs

The Huntingdon County Foundation presented $1,000 to the Salvation Army and $1,000 to the Huntingdon County Forum of Churches to support their efforts to assist those in need of heating oil this winter. A portion of the funds came from the David K. Goodman, Jr. Endowment started by the Foundation a few years ago.

Get to Know Your Congressional Candidates
In partnership with The Daily News, the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is providing this article to help you make an informed decision during the November 6 Election. Questions were developed based on responses from a survey the Chamber conducted of local businesses.

Congressman Shuster will not be running for office again, so these candidates are for the position he will be vacating. District 13 Congressional Candidates are Brent Ottaway (D) and John Joyce (R). Candidates were asked to limit their responses to 200 words each. No changes have been made to their responses.

Small Business Saturday!

It's time again for Small Business Saturday. We would love to have your small business participate with us! We're doing some new things this year with our normal promotion of the participating businesses and the gift basket giveaway. If you'd like to participate, we do ask that you please donate an item we can include in the gift basket that one lucky Small Business Saturday shopper will win. We're going to be asking our membership to include some items/coupons to be included in the tote bags that we will be distributing to participants. We are also going to be visiting participating businesses and doing Facebook Live videos up until Small Business Saturday. If you'd like to participate in that, please let MacKenzie know. We can discuss any specials you'll be having just for Small Business Saturday, things you'd like to promote or something special you might have going on. Facebook Live videos will be on a first come, first serve basis because we may not be able to visit each business that is participating.

If you want to have your small business included in a lot of FREE promotion such as, press releases, flyers, Facebook marketing, etc. by participating in Small Business Saturday please contact MacKenzie at mhuntsman@huntingdonchamber.com.

Featured Benefit

Members are invited to attend Lunch & Learn events for FREE! You can either bring your own lunch and attend at no cost or we can order lunch for you for $10. The next Lunch & Learn is January 16 and features Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission presenting information on Community Development, including available funding sources for municipalities and non-profits.

If you have a topic you are interested in learning more about, please contact ymartin@huntingdonchamber.com.
Information Update Forms

Forms were mailed to the main contacts for each member so that updates can be made to the information that we have on file. This information needs to be updated by November 16 so that it is correct in the 2019 Community Profile & Membership Directory and also in the rack card size directory. You may list as many employees as you want on the forms. Only the main contact will be publicized, but listing other employees gets them in our system so that they receive email too.
Haven't Paid Your Membership Dues Yet?

Time is running out if you want to be included in the directories. Contact the Chamber at 814-643-1110 or mlocke@huntingdonchamber.com or ymartin@huntingdonchamber.com if you need another invoice or wish to pay over the phone.
