25 Years of Florida's Wonderful Wildflowers!

A passion for our native wildflowers is fundamental to everything we do — and we’re committed to sharing knowledge that fosters both appreciation and action. Here is a collection of resources we’ve built over 25 years and continue to grow, to help you get to know our wonderful wildflowers.

We’re celebrating 25 years of wildflowers and looking ahead to all that’s still to bloom. Join our $25 for 25 campaign with a gift of $25 and help grow a future where Florida’s native wildflowers thrive. Donate today!

Wildflowers Take Root at Innovation Montessori

Last month, we teamed up with Dix.Hite and other partners to bring the landscape at Innovation Montessori Ocoee to life with native plants, establishing the PEACE Legacy Garden — a space for students to gather, connect and experience a small piece of natural Florida together. Learn more here.

Garden Spotlight: Bruce J. Host Northeast Branch Library

This month, we are featuring a thriving native plant garden supported by our Seeds of Knowledge Library Demonstration Garden Grant. The Babies Breath Circle of the Tallahassee Garden Club has worked hard to support pollinators and other wildlife at the Bruce J. Host Northeast Branch Library, and their efforts are paying off! Get to know the garden here.

Pollinator Profile: Delta flower scarab beetle

When you think of pollinators, a beetle might not immediately come to mind — but these insects are even more reliant on flowers than some bees and butterflies! The Delta flower scarab beetle (Trigonopeltastes delta) is a vibrant, yet common, flower beetle in Florida.

Plant Profile Feature: Saw palmetto

Did you know: Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) is one of Florida’s most foundational wildflowers! It is found throughout the state in habitats ranging from scrub and flatwoods to coastal hammocks. It supports so many species of wildlife that Dr. Mark Deyrup of Archbold Biological Station calls it the “most amazing plant in Florida.”

Learn more about Saw palmetto here and look for it blooming now in local natural areas.

The Florida Meadow — A Future of Ecological Enhancement

Presented by Dr. Gage LaPierre, University of Florida

Meadows are dynamic, human-created plant communities — graminoid- and forb-dominated landscapes that offer both ecological value and striking visual appeal. In this webinar, we’ll explore what makes meadows thrive in Florida’s unique environment, from the principles behind their design to the practicalities of installation and long-term management.
