Experimental techniques and hybridization give nuance to their approach. Global Mechanic creates animation for not only commercials, but also series, short films, and live performance projections. They create digital products like QUINI, their wine data enterprise platform and tasting app.
They are a community of artists that
has produced hundreds of hours of award-winning content, but can still sit down and put pencil to paper. They're nimble and adaptive. They have the power to concept, design, produce, and manage projects, large or small.

The Artists - Featured Director: Bruce Alcock
The Founder and Creative Director of the Global Mechanic team of artists, Bruce practices a studio ethic of collaboration, focus, and pleasure in work that combines design, typography, and motion. He has had, and seeks to always have, a multi-disciplinary approach to every project. Variety defines the work, and he studiously evades pigeon-holing in favor of constant evolution, learning, and stimuli. He believes that old-school, physical techniques inform even the most tech-heavy work--such as incorporating physical animation and image-making methods into pipeline design and AR/VR. Finding inspiration in the art world, the everyday world, drawing, typography, architecture, and industrial design, he strives to create rather than copy and compose rather than merely produce.

heir directors are well-recognized, receiving Emmy and Oscar nomination, along with winning accolades at film festivals worldwide, including: Cannes Lion Grand Prixs, Webbys, and the Annecy Cristal.
Founder and Creative Director, Bruce Alcock, was asked to present his life's animation
work in advertising at the Annecy International Film Festival in June 2016. And
their directors have taught at Harvard, RISD, the Art Institute of Boston, MCAD, and Vancouver Film School.

While working on series projects with PBS, Global Mechanic needed an asset management system with a specific scope. While there were existing systems available, none fit their needs quite right.
So the talented coders and artists at Global Mechanic created their own.
From the ground up...completely in-house.
Gears is not only a proprietary asset management system, but also a reel builder and a WIP posting site.
It gives users complete control over their sharing, storage, and organization. Gears is bespoke and light in coding. Never bulky, never overdone, and not prone to constant updating like other asset managers on the market.
That's how Global Mechanic does things; when they hit a wall, they build a ladder.
