New to Adult Education? Use Our New Onboarding Tool to Get Up to Speed Fast
CAEP 101 onboarding image
We know there's a lot to adult education. Data collection. Fiscal reporting. Running a consortium. They all come with their own processes, rules and deadlines. To make the transition into adult education easier for those of you new to the California Adult Education Program or new to managing a consortium, we've put together an online onboarding tool that puts all the information you need at your fingertips.

Find the tool at  resources.caladulted.org/onboarding . Start with the Getting Started page for information about the legislation that created and governs CAEP,
program guidance and fiscal guidance, as well as basic resources you’ll refer back to again and again.

Then head to the Data Driven Decision-Making and Technology page to learn about planning; student data collection and reporting; and fiscal reporting. You will also find links to the adult education systems used for data tracking and reporting.

The Effective Consortium Management page gives you resources you can use for consortium organization, and the Proactive Outreach page includes resources your region can use to get the word out to community stakeholders about the work you do.

Governor Appoints Council to Look at College Completion

California Community Colleges System Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley; Tony Thurmond, California state superintendent of public instruction; and Linda Darling-Hammond, president, California State Board of Education, are among the council’s members. See the full list of members and learn more about the council in this EdSource story titled Boosting California college graduations is governor panel's first task .
