Member Spotlight
We want to give a big shout out to FTR member, Kayla Bruner this month. Kayla is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. She is always willing to offer a helping hand and always supports her peers here at the gym. Kayla is consistent and strong, having come to 15 classes in May! She carries herself with strength and grace and is an overall amazing human being. We love you Kayla and are grateful you are a part of our community.

We are holding our second FTR Certification Workshop June 26-27. We are so excited to host three trainers from Connecticut and one trainer from Park City who are interested in learning about FTR's evidence-based curricula, and then applying FTR's programming at their respective facilities. NUTRITION PILLAR
Nutrition Challenge Update

We are officially three weeks into our Nutrition Challenge and things are going well! We had 65 people sign up for this challenge which resulted in five different teams, each with their own designated team captain who help with daily nutrition motivation.

To successfully complete the challenge, participants must complete 5 out of the 7 daily prompts per day for a minimum of 25 out of 30 days. The Daily Challenge prompts are:
  • Eat 3+ servings of vegetables
  • Eat 3+ servings of fruit (Does not include fruit juice)
  • Drink half your body weight (in ounces) of WATER (water only!)
  • Consume at least THREE (3) meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • Have at least one home-cooked/prepared meal
  • Check-in with a member from your challenge team
  • Write in your food journal

Here is what some of our Nutrition Challenge participants have to say about the challenge:

"I love how it is focused on what we can do/consume, rather than what we can't. It is a much more empowering feeling! The effort to consume more fruits, veggies and water is definitely helping me feel better and improving my workouts! I love the aspect of writing in our food journals. It helps me be more mindful and intuitive with my nutrition! Finally, I love the aspect of us being on a team and doing this together. I look forward to daily check-ins and hearing and learning from others!

"I've always used intuitive eating and intermittent fasting as an excuse to devouring 3 large meals in 2 hours from the nearest fast food joint. With a 5 step guideline it has made those quick, no brainer, on the go meal decisions seem a lot more like poor excuses and justification. Now after a bit of reflection and little time spent organizing my kitchen, I have a much clearer objective in not only what I wish to accomplish but also a "how" to accomplish my goals for the remaining weeks through the challenge!"

Join us in-person, Saturday June 26 at 7:00 pm for 'Together', the next Deeply Rooted performance which features community artists. This inclusive event will be held at Fit To Recover. Bring your friends and family and come support our talented performers.
