From what I recall, people either loved or hated this song which topped the Billboard Music charts this week in 1988. Bobby McFerrin released the firt acappella song to reach No. 1 with "Don't Worry, Be Happy." The "instruments" in the acappella song are entirely overdubbed voice parts and other sounds made by McFerrin, using no instruments at all. At the 1989 Grammy Awards, it won the awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
