Greetings!
Huge News from CDC announced on April 27 which will allow cruises in and out of US ports beginning this July. The protocols will include the following requirements: the crew must be 99% vaccinated, the guests must be 95% vaccinated, and the ships cannot be filled beyond 50% capacity. If you have ever dreamed of being on a ship with half the passengers, now is your chance! Pricing is still attractive but rates will start increasing soon. Additionally, the CDC has eliminated the 60 days of clinical trials and is expected to increase cruise lengths from 7 to 9 days shortly.
In a fascinating statement, a former CDC Commissioner says that cruises could be a “lower risk endeavor” compared to other travel. This, of course, has been the argument from the cruise industry for months.
Unfortunately, the July commencement eliminated our planned voyage to Newport and Bermuda on which we were hoping to report directly to you on the protocols we experienced. The news from the CDC a few days ago, however, has softened our disappointment of having the cruise cancelled. Here’s the bottom line: cruising is back and We Can’t Wait!!!
On April 28, Celebrity released a video on its newest Edge Class ship, the Beyond. It is a stunning ship that features enhancements even above the Apex and Edge.
