It's all Connected

Explore why a systems-level approach is critical

Community Foundations like BCF build community by addressing a broad spectrum of interrelated issues. Community-building organizations are increasingly recognizing that tackling complex issues such as affordability, mental health, and environmental protection is systems-change work.

One of BCF’s strategic goals is to increase knowledge and capacity for system-level change within Bow Valley organizations. Skillful systems-change work involves relationship-building across differences, trying new things and continuous learning.

It requires leaders to stay curious about the connections between parts of the system – especially how power is distributed and how resources flow – and to get comfortable with uncertainty.

We began this journey with a learning session for BCF Board and Committee members about Systems Change from a Community Foundation lens and have pulled out some highlights to share with you in the article featured below.

Watch this space for more on systems-leadership in the coming months.
