Getting off of the beaten path

September 16

 7 pm – 8:00 pm

By Dave Cowell

Have you ever gotten a little tired of birding all of the popular areas? If you’ve answered yes, you’re not alone.

In this presentation, I’ll speak about how I go about finding some of the off beaten areas I’ve found myself roaming around in looking for birds. Of course I’ll be sharing some images made over the years of expected and a few unexpected finds.

Post Bath Barred Owl

I-2117 would cut an estimated $1 billion in funding for environmental justice and addressing health inequities, allow more air pollution, and roll back efforts to protect communities.

At Audubon Washington, our mission is to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Initiative 2117 threatens to strip billions in investments from community priorities in every county — such as air quality, transportation and transit service, bird and salmon habitat, and wildfire prevention. That’s why it’s crucial for Audubon members like you to get involved in this fight.
Sign up here for a Weekend of Action leafletting or tabling event near you! Together, we can defeat I-2117.

Fall Birds, Fall Color with Steve Johnson

October 12 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sign up early for this popular annual trip with Steve. Visit picturesque parks and beaches in King County and Pierce County during a great time of year to look for returning fall birds.

We will travel to local parks and beaches along Puget Sound, searching for many species of sea birds and forest birds. This is a good time of year to encounter scenic views and fall color. Expect to walk short distances from the cars. People who wish to leave early may do so.
