Dear St. Bart's families and friends,

Christmas is three weeks from today! And that means we are busy planning our annual Christmas Pageant, which will take place on December 24 at the 4 pm service. We hope that the pageant will be both meaningful and and stress-free (a tall order!) and to that end, we need your active participation. ALL of our children and youth are welcome to join in - as a chorister, a narrator, an actor (no lines to memorize!) or a behind the scenes helper. We also need adult helpers to sort and distribute costumes, and to supervise and "shepherd" young cast members.

Our first organizational meeting will take place this Sunday, December 8, 11:00-1:00 in Room 33. This meeting is for youth grades 6 -12 (Youth@theCenter) who would like to participate; narrators and lead roles will come from this group, and we'll read through the script and talk about what we're doing. (NOTE: Choristers are invited to participate in the pageant in addition to singing) Snacks provided!

Our next meeting will be  Sunday, December 22 12:30 - 2:00. ALL PARTICIPANTS will gather in the chapel; we will distribute costumes and walk through the pageant. A light lunch will be provided.

On  Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, all participants should arrive by 2:00 pm  to put on costumes and rehearse  before our 4:00 pm performance. Snacks again provided!

Anyone who attends on Christmas Eve and wants to participate as  an "extra" will be welcome - shepherd, angel, and magi costumes will available for the taking at rehearsal and at the beginning of the service.

Christmas Pageants provide not only joy in the moment but also lasting memories. Please let me know if you have any questions; attendance at these meetings is important, but if your child/youth wants to participate, but cannot make a meeting, please be in touch so that we can work something out. And please let me know if you are able to assist

A final note: On Tuesday, December 10, we'll be caroling on the steps at 5:45 pm; join us for a fun time of singing in the season, with cookies and cocoa and activities for kids inside afterwards (hint: face painting!) Please join us!

Advent blessings,

Kris+ and Dent
