Brock may be a life-long resident of central Indiana, but that doesn’t mean that he has stayed in one place. Far from it.
Life began as the youngest of five boys in Greenfield. He was so much younger than his brothers that he essentially became an only child at age seven, leaving him plenty of time with his dad (David – an ordained DOC minister) and his mom (Carolyn.) Brock has many memories of traveling with his parents. They went all over the United States and even spent a whirlwind vacation in Europe when Brock was a young teenager.
When Brock attended Purdue University to study Economics and Spanish, he was able to study for a semester in Spain. After taking a year off from academic life, Brock then attended Butler University and received an MBA. Now he is using all of his experience as he teaches Business and Spanish courses for Ivy Tech.
Brock met his wife Jessica when they were in the 7th grade, and even though they spent over a year on separate continents, they have been an amazing pair ever since. They recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary and are the parents are three boys – Quinten, Joshua, and Zachary. Like many parents, Brock marvels at how three boys can be so similar and yet so different! Sports and exploring have taken over the McCracken world – and Brock couldn’t be happier.
The things that Brock enjoyed while growing up still hold a special place in his life. He recently visited Iceland, Belgium, and the Netherlands with his mom. His love of music spans many years, from playing trumpet in the marching band to singing and performing in church productions. His love for scary movies and all things Halloween is almost legendary. He is a man who knows “a little bit about a lot of things” and who has a thirst for reading and learning… mostly about history, cultures, and – you guessed it – traveling.
