When Rebecca Reid met Garrett Receveur, she knew she’d met someone special. As their bond grew, she remembered an article in a Christian magazine that she read when she was only 10. It said you’d know when you met the right person when you could replace the word “love” with that person’s name. Who said dating apps don’t work! She and Garrett met a year ago and are now engaged with a wedding planned for October 16, 2021.

Garrett is from Greenville, Indiana, and has two younger brothers. Rebecca is from Fort Wayne and has a younger brother who has two children: Penny (6) and Weston (5 months). Both ended up in Indianapolis due to school or career.

Rebecca is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She works with children with autism at the Damar ABA Center. She is currently working on her PhD in the same field. Garrett got his masters at IUPUI in Public History and is a Cultural Resources Associate. He does research on historical buildings to determine historic preservation.

Garrett and Rebecca have a cat, Mando, and may add a dog to the mix in the future. They enjoy games such as Phase 10, Skippo, and Dominoes and love to go hiking at Richey Woods Nature Preserve.

Garrett and Rebecca are new to Allisonville Christian Church, having joined in January 2020. When we’re finally able to reconvene, please give a warm welcome to this wonderful young couple! We will all look forward to getting to know you better!

I Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
