SCHEDULE UPDATE
Before Christmas, our Directional Team decided to reduce our ministry schedule in light of suspected holiday COVID surges. In an attempt to protect our members and community from COVID exposure, we ceased all midweek activities and Sunday morning small groups. Our concerns have been validated over the last several days as we have seen new cases in the 3,000-4,000 range, Pulaski and Saline counties remaining in the top tier of counties with COVID, record-setting hospitalizations, and sadly COVID related deaths being the highest they have ever been. For these reasons, we have chosen to remain in our current schedule more than likely through the end of February.

Our staff team will meet next week to consider additional options and explore a few non-conventional ministry opportunities. We hope to release a COVID update in the middle of the week with more information.

We would like to remind all those attending in person on Sunday morning to wear masks while entering and exiting and during the singing portion of our services. Thank you in advance for your willingness to follow our safety protocols and help love one another as everyone has different needs and desires. We will get through this together and trust the Lord along the way!

If you have any questions, please contact any member of our Directional Team or email jmiller@gsfbc.org.
GUEST SPEAKER
We are excited to welcome Chet Gallagher to Geyer Springs this Sunday, January 10. Chet is a former Las Vegas police officer who now serves on the Leadership Team of Operation Save America. Chet is an evangelist and passionate pro-life speaker who has put himself on the line many times to protect the unborn.
February 12 we will host a VIRTUAL Night to Shine sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. If you have volunteered in the past, you know just how special this night is each year. In order to prioritize safety for each participant, the event will take place virtually. We want this night to remain a special night of celebration. In lieu of an in person experience, guests will receive access to the virtual event and a prom experience kit. We need your help! You can give to help cover the cost of an experience kit, and you can sign up to provide contactless delivery of the kits! Visit gsfbc.org/nts to give and email mvaughn@gsfbc.org to volunteer!

STAFF UPDATE
Church Family,

Back in January 2020, I started working towards a goal that God has been preparing my heart for over the past few years: the journey of serving in long term, cross-cultural ministry among the unreached (people groups who have never heard the Gospel). I have connected with a missions organization called Serving in Mission (SIM) and a SIM team currently serving in Ayuttahya, Thailand. This part, and many other parts of Thailand, are roughly 99% Buddhist.

After much prayer, I have His peace in sharing January 24 will be my last Sunday on staff at Geyer Springs. At that time, I plan to work full time on raising support and preparing to leave for Thailand in April 2021. I am excited to continue to partner with Geyer Springs through SIM to take the Gospel to those who have currently never heard it. I would love to invite you to serve alongside me in this calling by joining my prayer and support team. If you would like more information on how to support me during this journey, please email me at ryan.symens@sim.org. I would love to visit with you!

It has been a blessing to call Geyer Springs home these past two years. The memories I have made during my time here are something I will always cherish. Thank you for your love; thank you for your prayers.

For the Kingdom,

Ryan Symens

THANK YOU FOR GIVING
In spite of the major financial challenges that the coronavirus has placed on many in our church family, giving was strong for 2020. We increased last year’s budget by $45,000 with the faith that God would provide the needed funds for our ever growing ministry. You have been faithful in your support by giving $87,554 more than was received in 2019. What a blessing, especially in an unprecedented year of hardship and uncertainty. God continues to show us His provision when we follow His calling and remain faithful to make the Gospel the main thing at GSFBC.
