Happy Black History Month HP 2025!!!

The Black Student Union invites you to join us. February is a month to shine a bright light on black history, black excellence, and black joy. This year, the BSU wants to recognize how our student body is connected to the greater African Diaspora. Express interest by completing this short Google Form (link here). The BSU is planning several events and hopes to include new members. Use this link for further information about the BSU.

The next Book Club meeting is Wednesday, March 5 at 3:15 in the library! We will discuss the memoir Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter. Stop by the library to borrow a copy of the book. All are welcome!

Delta Drug-Free meeting this Thursday, Feb. 20th, at 7:30 am in A232. New members are always welcome! We will be working on our new, expanded media campaign.

Congratulations to our HP Chess Team - Club Sponsor Pablo Alvarez and Alan Castillo!

Our HP Chess Team was down in Peoria, IL at the State Chess Tournament. Our Giants defeated many ranked teams like York and Glenbrook South who were seeded 10 spots above HPHS. We finished 20th in state!

Congratulations to our HP Robotics Team - Club Sponsors Tesa Edwards and Alexandar Mak!

Silly Servo’s fought hard, despite technical issues with the robot. We were ranked seventh in the league, going into the final tournament, and we fought back during double elimination to earn an alternate spot for the state of Illinois meet! Our Giants were competing against the team that scored the third highest in the world, literally! 

As a sophomore, Jacob Kaiserman is a semifinalist for the Deans’ award!

Boys volleyball will be holding our pre-season meeting on Thursday, February 20th at 7:30am in room C220. Please make sure you are registered on RSchool. Our first day of tryouts will be Monday, March 10th. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Hotwagner (jhotwagner@dist113.org).
