Don’t forget, this Thursday, September 5th is Open House! Doors open at 6:00pm. Open House is a way for families to go through their student’s schedule, meet teachers, hear a little bit about the classroom experience, and learn more about all HPHS has going on for our students. Information can be found in Principal Fleischer’s weekly email. We look forward to seeing you there!

ACTIVITY TICKET: The purchase of the 24-25 yearbook is tied to the purchase of an activity ticket bundle! Now is the time to make this purchase before HPHS places their order with our yearbook publisher. You will find the purchase link in the Infinite Campus School Store. Activity Ticket purchases fund the entire student activities program. This bundle includes a yearbook, free admission to athletic events and free admission to student-directed fine arts events (STUNTS & the Short Play Festival) using a student ID. An activity ticket purchase also supports our school's literary magazine, school media/newspaper, all theater productions, assemblies, and all-school special activities. Yearbooks are part of the Activity Ticket bundle and are not sold separately. Students must go to the bookstore to redeem their free theater tickets. Of course this purchase is optional, however we do not order extra yearbooks to sell once they arrive. You can set up a cash payment plan in the bookstore if needed.

A FRAM discount (students enrolled in the free book program) is available when you go to make your purchase in Infinite Campus. The cost is $50. For more information, please contact Norma Aguilar, nagular@dist113.org .

Charity Drive 2025 Beneficiary Application Is Open! If you know of an amazing organization that could benefit from the funds and awareness raised by Charity Drive, please have them submit an application. Deadline is September 5th.

Athletics

Shoutout to our Girls Flag Football team. Flag Football is one of the fast growing sports in the nation. It became an IHSA sport this year and will be an Olympic Sport in 2028. We are proud of our trailblazing athletes and coaches who are committed to building the program here at HPHS. The team lost their first game of the season to Niles North last week, but there was still so much to be proud of.

It was an exciting week of competitions for HP Athletics. Thanks to all of our coaches for the flexibility and care that was shown as we navigated the extreme temperatures last week. Below is our Boys Soccer team after their first win on Saturday, our Poms team performing at the first home Football game, and the plaque awarded to our Varsity Girls Volleyball team after finishing in 2nd Place at the Fenton Invitational.

Students interested in being athletic department interns should contact Mr. Harris (pharris@dist113.org). There are many different opportunities for students to get involved.
