Although the temperatures outside are dropping, HP Debate is CRANKING UP THE HEAT with a scorching start to the 2023-2024 season!

The team had a strong showing at its first ICDA tournament back on September 30 at Elk Grove High School. In addition to taking home the 3rd place team sweepstakes trophy, Callie Wu (1st in chamber), Jim Shivak (3rd in chamber), Kobi Silver (3rd in chamber), Liam Rosemeyer (3rd in chamber), Lily Benensohn (Best PO), and Stella Gottlieb (Best PO) were all honored for their outstanding individual performances on the debate floor that day.

Highland Park followed this up by placing 2nd overall at ICDA 2 last Saturday at Stevenson High School!!! Both our veteran and novice debaters contributed to an impressive sweepstakes finish against some very tough competition. Once again, numerous Giants were recognized for their individual accomplishments, including Eli Levin (1st in chamber), Stella Gottlieb (2nd in chamber), Kobi Silver (Nathan Sukenik (2nd in chamber and Best PO), Rylee Weber (3rd in chamber), Noah Hersh (Best PO), and Sophia Elkin (Best PO).

Congratulations, Giant debaters on a great start to the season!
