Counseling & Postsecondary Counseling

Class of '25 - It was wonderful to be together at our Home on Vine on 11/18/23 and begin to explore the postsecondary process with all of you. Both the postsecondary counselor presentation and the counselor presentation, along with the handout are posted to our PSC website under Programs in the Information for Juniors section. If you were not able to attend, you should review the slides as the information shared is pertinent to your post high school planning with key information and resources shared that all juniors are expected to know.

As we mentioned, junior postsecondary appointments begin January 18, 2024 and you will be able to find out who your Postsecondary Counselor is, by checking your Maia account when appointments open on January 10, 2024. If you have any individual reasons to request a specific postsecondary counselor for your student, parents can email those requests to Jen Ginopolis (jginopolis@dist113.org) by December 6, 2023 for consideration. To begin to explore and use the tools in MaiaLearning, please watch this tutorial video located on our website.

We look forward to working with you and supporting your postsecondary planning!

Class of 2027 - Freshman Parents - Save the Date for our Virtual Program "Making the Most of High School" from 6:30pm - 7:30pm on Thursday, December 14th.

The Giants Hockey Team bounced back from a tough Deerfield loss by winning the Stevenson Invitational Thanksgiving Tournament Championship! The Giants went 4-1-0 defeating #12 ranked Libertyville and #10 Waubonsie in the championship game. The final game went into a 10-minute overtime. Dylan Lansky managed to break away in the final seconds only to be taken down by Waubonsie's goalie. It didn't stop the Giants. He got up, and passed to a trailing Alex Schneiderman, who tapped in the game winner! Lansky had 2 goals in the contest and Evan Paget scored as well. Freshman goalie Graham Spencer had 27 saves in the Championship win. This is the second straight Tournament the Giants have won this season. They will try and make it three in a row in Madison, Wisconsin on MLK Weekend. The Giants currently sit in second place behind Chicago North in the IHSHL North-Central Division with 9 games to go in the regular season. Cheer on the Giants for their next home game at Centennial Ice Arena when they play New Trier Blue on Saturday, December 2.
