Athletics

Girls Gymnastics - The team defeated Maine West on Thursday.  The week prior, the Giants finished 3rd at the Wheeling Invitational.  Sophomore Maddyn Cohen had a great performance at Wheeling finishing 1st on vault, 2nd on beam, and 1st all around.

Boys Wrestling - The team placed 3rd at the Hinsdale South Invite.  Despite some key injuries, the team continues to persevere.  The JV and Freshman teams are working hard and showing improvement.

Girls Wrestling - We hosted our first ever Girls Wrestling Meet this past Wednesday.  On Friday, the Girls participated in the Beat the Streets Invite at Hope Academy.  Clara Ugaz and Riley Moore both came home with championship medals.

Girls Basketball - The team moved to 3-0 in CSL North play with a 39-35 win over Vernon Hills on Wednesday.  McKenzie Reitmayer led the way with 17 points.  The squad hopes to keep it Rolling this week versus Maine West at home on Friday Night.

Boys Basketball - The Giants evened their overall record at 4-4 with two wins over the weekend.  Simon Moschin’s 23 points helped the Giants defeat Vernon Hills on the road on Friday night.  The team has a busy weekend coming up with a conference game at Maine West on Friday and a home game with Deerfield on Saturday.

Boys Swim & Dive - It was a busy weekend for our Swim Program with a meet against Evanston on Friday and a home JV Invitational on Saturday.  The highlight of the weekend was senior diver Noam Kulbak setting a new pool record (372.65).  If you haven’t seen Noam compete I recommend coming to our home meet with New Trier on Friday night or attending the Lake County Invitational on Saturday morning.

November Athletes of the Month - Boys Varsity Cross Country Team, Varsity Football Team, Brooke Eliacin - swimming, Emily Fraser - swimming, Megan Kim - swimming, Marisa Miller - swimming.

Community Opportunities

HP Giants Varsity Hockey Team gets a huge win against the #12 ranked Libertyville Ice Cats Sunday night! In quite possibly their best game of the season, the Giants dominated the play for all 3 periods at both ends of the ice, winning 4-1. The Giants got great goaltending from Freshman Graham Spencer who saved 18 of 19 shots. In the first period, HP netted goals from Dylan Lansky (assisted by Hudson Fisher) and Eli Meek shorthanded (assisted by Trey Raposo). Then on a big power play in the second period, Alex Schneiderman scored from Meek and Lansky. In the 3rd, Dylan Lansky sealed the game with a breakaway goal assisted by Ben Lichtenfeld. The Giants moved into second place in the IHSHL (only 7 point out of first) and are currently ranked #19 in the state! Keep up the great spirit and help cheer on the Giants at 2 home games this week (the last games before Winter break). Thursday (12/14) at 9pm against rival Lake Forest and Saturday (12/16) against Barrington. Both games tip off at Centennial Ice Arena!
