Congratulate the 2023-24 Highland Park High School Model UN team and team presidents Ella Bernstein, Emma Eisenberg, Miles Provus for their hard work and second place (Outstanding Delegation) finish at last weekend’s twentieth annual Chicago International Model United Nations (CIMUN XX) Conference. This was Highland Park’s return year to the CIMUN conference after five years away.

Our team faced tough competition against 800 top delegates from across the Midwest, the nation, and countries from around the world. Students worked for 8-12 hours a day developing policy, creating coalitions, and drafting successful resolutions on pressing global issues. In addition to our strong team effort and a second place finish by our team delegation representing Israel, ten team members won individual awards for their superlative work on particular committees, including four 1st place finishes. At all times, HPHS Model UN students dedicated themselves to exhaustive research, spirited and gracious competition, and deep appreciation for the nuances of international relations. These amazing students continue to set the standard for Model UN both regionally and nationally.

Are you an animal lover? Well the Animal Rights Club will be hosting their first 2nd semester meeting on Thursday, January 25th, at 8:00 AM in room A333. We do many fun activities that all work towards bettering the lives of all animals. If you are interested, don't hesitate to come and try it out! If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Lee at plee@dist113.org.

The Giants depth proved formidable as they netted goals from 7 different players (Alex Schneiderman, David Borys, Dylan Lansky, Hudson Fisher, Reece Mindel, Evan Paget, and Cole Romo)! Also, a hearty congratulations to Eli Meek, Dylan Lansky, and Ben Lichtenfeld for being selected to the IHSHL All-Star Team! They will represent the North Central League Team in the NC v. This is an incredible honor and duly earned for their inspiring play this season. Congratulations are also in order for seniors Alex Schneiderman and Hudson Fisher for being selected to the IHSHL NC All-Star Team for the inter-League All-Star game. Sophomore Andrew Schneiderman was also selected to represent HP in the JV All-Star Game! Congrats to these three for their hard work and dedication all season!
