Highland Park Hockey: The Giants Hockey Team win another tournament Championship, going 3 -0 for the season!
This past Sunday the Giants defeated St. Ignatius 4 to 3 to win the Mad City Midwinter Classic Championship in Madison WI.
Continue to support the team this week. They take on the Chicago Romans on Thursday at 9:00 pm at Centennial. All student fans are needed to help the team defeat rival Deerfield in a heated rematch this Saturday at Twin Rinks---the puck drops at 4:30. Highland Park Poetry invites poets of all ages to submit poems that respond to one of three possible challenges. This year's unique challenges are:
- Advice - Good or Bad
- Mystery (honoring the 200th birthday of Wilkie Collins, author of The Moonstone and The Woman in White, considered the father of the modern detective novel) - poems do not have to focus on Collins or his work but address the theme.
- Prime 53 - this is a new poetic form created by editors of Press 53. Poems may be written on any subject using this form.
It is free to submit one poem. This means everyone may participate. Please visit the website for submission guidelines, entry form, and instructions for writing Prime 53 poems.
The deadline is Monday, January 29, 2024.
