November News
Hi Janice ,

It is already November and time to plan for the upcoming festivities! Where has this year gone!
We have several surprises just for you to start the season. Let's see what is in store...
On the Design Wall

With all the threads and lining fabric auditions pulled for my Wildflower Shawl, as well as secret Christmas projects happening (more on that next month), my sewing room looked like a hurricane had blown through. It was time to do some purging and organizing!

I came across one of Mom's unfinished projects and knew it was time to finish it this month in honor and thanks for her.

This is our Lil' Punchneedle Quilts design, Dresden Plates. Mom was always so very supportive of our designs, and she loved to test them for us.

She had one lonely green petal left to needlepunch and the binding to add to complete this project. I am not sure what color she intended to bind this little quilt, but I guessed it might be her favorite color, blue.

In honor of Mom, and in thanks for all she inspired within us, we are offering this pattern for FREE this month. Click HERE for your Thankgsiving copy. Enjoy!
The finishing touches are being added to the Wildflower Shawl. All the blocks are embroidered, it is lined, trim is being added, and this beauty will be ready to wear during the holidays!

This month our block of the month class will be stitching a Hummingbird Vine & Wild Roses. The ladies have been anticipating this block, especially stitching the roses!

The pattern will be available at the end of our Block of the Month session, February 2023.

Stay tuned!

In the Classroom

Wildflower Shawl BOM
(also available as a webinar class)
2nd Saturday of each month, February 2022 through February 2023
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Cinnamon's Quilt Shoppe, Jacksonville, FL

Let's grow a beautiful wildflower garden together as we hand embroidery this eloquent shawl. This Block of the Month class offers lessons in hand embroidery, including both basic and intricate stitches. These stitches could also be included on your other quilting projects!

Not sure if you would wear a shawl? The monthly blocks could be stitched individually and framed, made into pillows, a pincushion, a tote, or even a quilt. The possibilities are endless!
If you're out of town and would like to stitch with us, the class is also being offered online as a WebEx meeting/class.

Please note this is a 12 session class and a one-year commitment. It is not too late to join.

Stitches & Techniques

Each month this section will highlight a new-to-me stitch or technique. I will share a pdf of the technique or a video link so you too may learn along with me. Click here to visit our website for additional tutorials.

One of the techniques included in the Needle Grace book is Traveler's Joy, used to make the Remembrance Poppies block.

In honor of Veteran's Day this Friday, November 11, and as a sampling of the Needle Grace book, click HERE for a FREE pattern for the Remembrance Poppies.

Please remember the Stitches & Techniques pages and any accompanying patterns are copyrighted and FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE ONLY. They may not be copied, duplicated or shared in any format without permission.
Stitching Companions
Last month, we were without air conditioning for a couple of days, and Doogan was not a happy camper!

Well, that was until we borrowed Dad's fan and brought it into the sewing room so he could stay cool.

He actually stood in front of the fan at one point and did a slow 360 to be sure to cool all his body parts.

This boy makes me laugh every day!
