Good Morning,

As you'll see from the results from our survey about how engaged your children have been, I am very pleased with the start of remote learning. The staff is working harder than they've ever worked before to make this the best for our learners. This is an entirely new experience and there is no playbook for this game.

Please encourage your child to reach out to their teacher if they have any questions. The success of remote learning will be judged on communication.

Report cards were emailed late last week so please contact Karen Madon at [email protected] if you did not receive one. Competency recovery will be offered when we are in a better position to provide assistance to our learners in person.

GHS is now closed until further notice and no one is allowed in the building.

Please call 524-7146 with any questions you may have. All messages are checked and are routed to the appropriate person.

Please be safe and stay home to protect yourself and others.

Anthony Sperazzo
Principal

IMPORTANT!!!
Gilford School District will be utilizing an online platform to provide continuing classroom instruction to students. In order to ensure that every child in the class receives the instruction, some online instruction may be video and audio recorded so that it can be accessed at a later time.

The primary focus of the video and audio recording will be on the instruction and the teacher, not on the students in the class. However, questions and comments asked and spoken by students may be part of the recording. Only students assigned to that specific class, the teacher, and school administrators will have access to the recordings. Otherwise, the recordings will not be made public by the online vendor or the school in any capacity.

The form provided, below, will be used to document your permission for these activities.

Coming early this week!
As we enter our third full week of remote learning, we're learning a lot. Based on feedback from learners, staff, and families, we have compiled a document with clear expectations that will assist everyone in this process. This will be released early this week. Stay tuned.

Google Classroom Parent Access
As a parent/guardian, you can receive email summaries showing your student’s progress. Here is an explanation of Google Classroom Summaries :

Teachers can invite parents/guardians via email to receive summaries of student progress, missing assignments, and upcoming work.

Parents accept the invite which arrives via email. Parents choose if they would like to receive weekly or daily summaries from Google Classroom.
Summaries include:
Missing work, Upcoming work
Class activity- announcements, assignments, and questions posted by the teacher

While Google Classroom summaries for parents are helpful, parents should contact the teacher via email or phone about specific concerns. Direct contact will also receive a more timely response.
Please make sure your child is checking their emails
