Manga Drawing Classes for Teen & Adults!

By popular demand, we are really excited to offer manga drawing classes for both adults and teens this November! Local Birmingham artist Bo Hughins will teach two sessions to teens and tweens, followed by two sessions for adults aged 18 and up. The classes are free and seating is limited, so please call 205-620-6418 to register. Be sure to specify if you are an adult or a teen when registering!

Staff Spotlight: Meet Kaylen

Hi there! My name is Kaylen and I am the Library Assistant for the Children’s Department! I graduated from both the University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama. I have over 5 years of experience working in public libraries. My job here at the library is to assist with the children’s programs and to visit the preschools & daycares in the area every month to perform a story time for the kids, and tell them about all the upcoming events at our library. I have so much fun at my job and I love getting to interact with all the families in our community through our library programs! Three Fun Facts about Me:

1. I have a very chubby doggo named Sammie who likes to eat my cheese puffs when I’m not looking.

2. I will read any book or watch any movie if it has a dragon in it. Dragons are cool.

3. AND I am absolutely obsessed with ALL things Disney (come trade pins with me!)
