Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope," events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.
Congratulations to The Kiln Studio and Gallery on their grand reopening yesterday at their new location! From classes and parties, to date nights and gifts, grab a friend and go check out what's spinning on the pottery wheels at 265 Young Street, Tuesday - Saturday, 12 - 5 pm.
Mother's Day is a week from today, and there are several brunch and beverage options around town, along with unique ideas to remember the moms who are with us here and in spirit. Don't forget, our friends at The Eat-Beat provide the premiere foodies guide for lunches, brunches and more for Fairhope and the Eastern Shore.
Some of our local special events are included below, with more ideas included in the printable events list, and the mother load (no pun intended) can be found via the searchable electronic calendar over on the Let's Go! Fairhope website. Please reply with anything we've missed!
If you're searching for the perfect Mother's Day gift for yourself or someone you love, local award-winning fiber artist Loretta Brown of Watercolor Willa will be back at the Mobile Bay Maker's Market TODAY, May 4 at 6925 Twin Beech Road in Fairhope from 10 am - 3 pm.
| | Traveling the Southeast with her hand-made, high-end wearable works of art, Loretta utilizes flowers and plants grown right here in her Baldwin County backyard to dye one-of-a-kind pieces that will never go out of style. | |
Events-News Special Feature:
Thank you to William Stitt aka. Bill-E of Bill-E's Bacon and restaurant for cluing us in to this 2025 dashingly dapper men's health-related fundraiser event that started in 2012 in Sydney Australia, and is growing globally...
Reportedly inspired by an image from TV's Mad Men, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR) is scheduled for May 18 in Mobile and Pensacola as part of 1,000 cities in 100+ countries raising "funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health."
Here's the Fairhope connection: Bill-E's, located on 181 just south of Walmart in Fairhope, is offering a way to help support the DGR cause on Wednesday May 7, via their monthly Bacon, Burgers and Bike Night.
Even if you don't consider yourself a motorcycle person, it would be hard to watch this event promotional video without wanting to get involved and support the mission. (If nothing else, check out the dapper attire, the mustaches, there are women riders too, and even a dog!) So go see Bill-E and his team Wednesday to find out more.
