Join Our Volunteer Team

We're looking for classroom volunteers to inspire girls after school to pursue their dreams! Role model your skills, share life experiences and help girls build the confidence to navigate the world. Classroom volunteers assist with activities and lessons once or twice a week, between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm for 2 to 3 hours a day.

What does a classroom volunteer role do?

  • Help girls with activities and answer their questions
  • Participate in classroom discussions and outdoor activities
  • Assist the instructor with attendance and parent sign-outs
  • Be an extra set of eyes in the classroom
  • Be a positive role model

To volunteer, complete our application. After submitting, we will invite you to schedule a Zoom orientation to discuss next steps. If you have any questions, email Stefani at Sgunduz@girlsincla.org.

PROGRAMMING

Summer Fun with the

Boys & Girls Clubs

Our summer "Girls Inc. Camp" with the Boys & Girls Clubs is coming to a close this week. Our team spent six weeks at four different club sites getting minds and bodies moving.

Students experimented by making slime, elephant toothpaste and tie-dyeing canvas tote bags. They got creative, making dry clay sculptures and washer windchimes. Many played softball and surfed for the first time. FP Movement got us moving with dance workshops and we ended with relay races that sparked our competitive spirit.

We thank our supporters and community partners for helping us bring new experiences, joy and fun to students during the summer. You can support our programs by making a donation.

Another Summer of Career Exploration Field Trips

Every Wednesday in July, our middle and high school girls were invited to participate in a series of career exploration field trips to learn about the world of skincare, entertainment, advertising, and technology.

A total of 36 participants joined our field trip series, which included visits to Tower 28, Sony Studios, Snap Inc., Deutsch and Summer Fridays. Each visit featured a tour of the office, a panel segment where girls learned about a variety of careers and connected with professionals, a delicious lunch, and an activity that deepened their industry knowledge.

"These trips are meant to be fun and educational, exposing girls to different career pathways where they can ask questions and think about their future." says Lead Program Facilitator, Symphony Powell.

We're grateful for our incredible partners for hosting! If you are interested in hosting a career field trip, email Ana Zavala at azavala@girlsincla.org.

NEWS

Meet Our New Staff

We welcomed three new staff members to Girls Inc. LA this summer. Genessa Frondarina, Stephany Del Carmen and Alyssa Moore will join us as Program Facilitators for the 2025-2026 school year. We're excited to have them help us kick off the school year and reach even more girls.

We're hiring! If you're looking to join our team, now is the time! We're looking for a Director of Development. Learn more and apply here.

Get to know a bit about our new staff and what led them to Girls Inc. LA:

Genessa Frondarina was a Girls Inc. intern before she became a full-time staff member. She credits her time with fellow staff members Olivia and Kate for curating a positive experience and providing support that ultimately led to her wanting to be a part of the Girls Inc. LA team.

Stephany Del Carmen previously worked with another nonprofit where she interacted with students and served as a mentor. She is excited to meet the students she will work with and mentor throughout the school year.

Alyssa Moore always wanted to work for an organization that aligns with her values and passion for uplifting underserved communities and youth. She believes programs like Girls Inc. LA are needed to provide a safe space at school and an adult they can trust.
