Career Exploration: Opening Doors to Future Pathways

For the fourth consecutive year, Girls Inc. of Los Angeles welcomed 45 secondary school participants and alumnae to our Summer Career Exploration Field Trip Series, connecting them with professionals across industries through behind-the-scenes visits to FP Movement, SiriusXM, APM Terminals, Edelman, Summer Fridays, Amgen and Dignity Health Sports Park.

These immersive experiences introduced girls to careers they may never have considered, helped them build relationships with inspiring professionals and encouraged them to envision themselves in leadership roles where women have historically been underrepresented.

With your support, we're expanding our career pathways programming so even more girls can explore their interests, build professional networks and gain real-world experience through field trips, career workshops and job shadow opportunities.

PROGRAMMING

Summer with the
Boys & Girls Clubs

While school may be out for the summer, Girls Inc. programming doesn't stop. Through our partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles and Santa Monica, we brought seven weeks of hands-on programming to elementary school students at four club sites in the same communities we serve throughout the school year.

From designing upcycled jewelry and participating in team challenges to practicing positive affirmations and building confidence, each week's activities encouraged creativity, teamwork and self-expression.

By continuing our programming during the summer months, we're helping girls stay connected to trusted mentors and enjoy a safe, engaging place to learn and grow year-round.

Volunteer with Girls Inc.
This School Year

We're seeking volunteers who can commit to a weekly after-school shift from 1-5pm at schools in West or South Los Angeles during the upcoming school year.

Working alongside our staff, you'll support engaging, hands-on activities that help girls build confidence, explore new interests, strengthen academic engagement and develop the skills they need to thrive. By showing up consistently throughout the school year, you'll build meaningful relationships with the girls while making a lasting impact on their futures.
