Closing Out the School Year Strong

We're proud to share that this school year, more than 1,200 elementary and middle school girls in South Los Angeles and Venice participated in Girls Inc. Programs.

Girls were a part of weekly programs during and after school and engaged in a variety of enriching activities that included community events, educational field trips, interactive workshops and mentorship opportunities.

One Girls Inc. participant shared, "I love this program because I get to have fun and learn things I never knew about."

Beyond programming, we deepened our commitment to supporting the larger school community. With your help we provided backpacks, school supplies, student uniforms, workout equipment, financial support for groceries and hygiene essentials. Participating and supporting school events helped bring us closer to the communities we serve.

PROGRAMMING

A Day of Play at Camp Mattel

Earlier this month, our elementary school girls were invited to spend the afternoon with Mattel at their annual Play It Forward celebration. This year's theme was Camp Mattel!

With over 20 experiences, games and crafting stations to choose from, our girls had a full day of fun activities. Highlights included cookie decorating, making bracelets, playing tug-of-war, face painting, planting seeds and seeing the iconic Barbie car up close.

We are proud to partner with organizations like Mattel that champion the power of play to help girls reach their full potential.

Girls Inc. is Back at the

Boys & Girls Clubs

We brought fashion to the first week of summer programming! Girls tapped into their creativity by making jewelry and sculptures using beads and air-dried clay.

This summer, "Girls Inc. Camp" is doubling its presence. We are growing from two to four Boys & Girls Clubs sites. Summer programs will run for six weeks, with sessions on Tuesdays at Challengers and Mar Vista and on Thursdays at Watts and Venice Clubs.

Throughout the summer, girls will engage in activities that boost confidence, stimulate their creativity, keep them active, encourage them to try new things and most importantly, have fun.
