Empowering a New Generation of STEM Leaders

During our "Smart" unit this month, we are finding fun and interactive ways to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

The unit introduces the scientific method to become familiar with the process of observation, research, experimentation and constructing a hypothesis. During programming girls engaged in hands-on learning, which included extracting DNA from strawberries.

Program Facilitator Iran Lara fosters an environment of curiosity and persistence, reminding girls that being smart doesn't mean that you have to know everything. It means you can be curious, ask questions, experiment and keep trying even if you don't get it the first time.

Stepping into Empowerment with Koolaburra by UGG

To launch their Women's History Month celebration, Koolaburra by UGG hosted workshops and made a generous donation to champion the empowerment of girls and women.

Earlier this month, they joined our middle school girls to discuss the importance of embracing imperfections. Each girl received a pair of Koolaburra by UGG boots to decorate and customize in honor of celebrating our unique selves.

As a bonus, Koolaburra by UGG connected with our CEO, Erin Ross, for an insightful Q+A about our work!

Tackling Gender Norms with the Los Angeles Rams

In honor of Women's history month, the LA Rams hosted a girls flag football clinic for our girls.

An incredible panel of women from the Rams organization talked about their roles and shared words of inspiration for girls to step out of their comfort zone and pursue their passion!

The girls participated in interactive football drills and played flag football. As a special surprise, Rampage, the Rams beloved mascot made an appearance!

We are grateful for the LA Rams dedication in helping level the playing field for girls and women in sports!

Making an Impact with Dolce Vita

This month you can empower girls with your Dolce Vita shoe purchase! For each donation made on their website, Dolce Vita is donating $1 to Girls Inc. LA to empower the next generation of women.

To amplify the celebration, in collaboration with Madison Nagle from Influencers with Impact, Dolce Vita, hosted goal-setting and vision board workshops to inspire our middle school girls to dream big!

We are thankful for Dolce Vita for celebrating all month long and for their special donation in honor of International Women's Day to help shape the future of our girls.
