Building Confidence

At Girls Inc., we believe that being bold means stepping out of your comfort zone and taking risks even when they're scary. But we know that boldness takes practice.

To help girls embrace risk-taking, they were tasked with building a reverse pyramid starting from the top rather than the base without dropping any cups. At first, girls were anxious about taking on a new and difficult task, hesitant about voicing their ideas, and frustrated when their pyramids collapsed. But with each attempt, they improved, gained confidence and even had fun challenging themselves to build even higher.

By encouraging smart risks, we help girls develop resilience, self-assurance and courage to challenge societal expectations while remaining authentic to themselves. Together we are inspiring the next generation of fearless leaders!

PROGRAMMING

Growing Her Game with LA Rams

In celebration of Women's History Month, we kicked off the month with a game of flag football with the LA Rams at the Nike LA HQ.

Girls heard from a panel of women in the sports industry and gained insight into careers. The highlight was getting to showcase their skills during a game of flag football with each other.

We're proud to partner with the LA Rams who are dedicated to growing the presence of women and girls in sports!

Girls in Tech: Exploring AI

Our girls explored the world of

Artificial Intelligence (AI) by designing their own apps!

After discussing AI myths and its real-world impact, they created apps for middle schoolers—one to track your mood and suggests ways to destress and another to report bullying and connect with a mentor.

With your support, we're inspiring the next generation of tech leaders!

A Day of Exploration at

the Discovery Cube

Mattel invited us to learn through play at the Discovery Cube in Los Angeles!

Through the interactive exhibits, girls learned about space, physics and the environment. They even challenged themselves to climb a wall.

A highlight was the Barbie: You Can Be Anything (TM): The Experience Exhibits. The girls got to try activities that helped them explore a variety of careers such as fashion design, chef, farm vet and more!

Thank you to Mattel for investing in and inspiring the next generation of girls that they can be anything!
