Discovery Cube Field Trip

Our elementary girls had an amazing time at the Discovery Cube in Sylmar, experiencing science in a new setting.

Through immersive exhibits such as "Roots and Fruits," they learned about the life cycle of a plant and their habitats. Our girls got hands-on in the "World of Motion" exhibit, where they were introduced to engineering design, energy transfer and Newton's Law of Motion.

Your generosity makes these educational adventures possible, allowing our girls to explore new spaces, have fun and spark their interest.

Stay tuned for the incredible lineup of summer field trips we have planned. If you would like to support our summer field trips you can give a gift here.

PROGRAMMING

Civic Engagement Project

We closed out the "Bold" Unit this month with a Civic Engagement project.

At each of our six schools, girls collaborated to decide on one way they would like to improve their school environment. With the guidance and support of staff our girls were able to create a positive impact in their community.

At one school, girls constructed a compost bin while another group built planter boxes. Our middle school girls painted a mural at their school with the support of local artist Mi'randa "Nana" Villanueva.

This project allows girls to come together as a collective force and see themselves as changemakers and advocates.

We are closing out Girls Inc. programming this week and are excited for summer programming!

LA Girls Rise: Give A Girl Wings Help Her Rise

On May 9th, we hosted the 3rd Annual LA Girls Rise Benefit at Paramount Studios with over 400 guests celebrating our mission and achievements!

We had the honor of having Tatyana Ali, a five-time NAACP winner, artist and activist, as our master of ceremonies.

We are grateful to our sponsors, partners, auction donors, volunteers, board members and staff for making this event a success! A special thanks to our Board Member Jean Batthany and her team for creating our new video that was premiered at the event.

The funds raised will support our summer programming and expansion efforts, enabling us to reach more girls.
